yeah man they look pretty alright, good stuff. will look even better when you get the dash done and all that.
i did my door trims this weekend too. the top part i covered in black fabric, the insert was done in purple and the rest of the door i VHT-ed. looks pretty sweet, but may consider covering the whole door in fabric as i am not a huge fan of how to dye looks and all.
but its good to have continuity with the rest of the car now, cant wait get to get the dash done in the same fabric, then the bottom half in the purple as well.

not sure what im gonna do about the handles, i have BA handles that i want to put it but it will take alot of fiddling around to get em in, so not sure. Maybe if i can find some ghia handles it might be easier. and yeah i think the big chunk where i dyed it could look better so i may cover it with fabric also. and def gotta do something about the backseat lol.
i attempted to do the dash, but i couldn't get it off.... can anymore give me some ideas about where all the mounts are cos i got all the ones i could see but it still was fixed in there pretty good.
She's gonna be nice and warm now with all that black and summer on its way!

Do the bottom half of the trims too, the dye looks a bit poxy compared to the top half..

Dash should have a few screws at the top, a couple of bolts under each kick panel and a couple at the base of the console.

yeah definitely will, after driving around for the past week or so with them its become pretty unbearable to look at the dyed part.
have to redo all of them anyways cos the glue i used isn't coping well with this current heat, will have to hotglue them i reckon

thanks for the info about the dash, will give it a shot soon hopefully

also, i was thinking of filling in those "groove" things (or foot rest things) at that bottom of the door before trimming it with the same material as the top part, thought it might add a bit of unique-ness to the style of the door trim....

They look schmexy. Fabric ftw!

So gerbzjen hows the fabric standing up to wear (even thought its been like 2/3 weeks)?

How are the Dyed ones going mad_Keen?

i wanna dye or fabric mine, but i use my window sill all the time and dont want black dye coming off when it gets hot :s or the fabric for that matter... or for them to fade. that'd be gahay

EFFalcon, how's the micro suede dash coping?

haven't got around doing the dash yet, maybe next weekend
but the doors are holding up pretty well, no fade-age yet...not to be expected of course but fabric on the back doors have come a bit loose on the top part and will need to be re glued which is no biggy really cos i have to cover the dyed part in fabric also so i'll do it then.

I tell ya what though the heat that all that black absorbs is crazy lol, gotta get the aircon fixed!

but yeah aside from that they are holding up well, the fabric isn't really affected on mine when the windows are rolled up and down so that may not be an issue for you either. not sure if it bring dyed will be different though...maybe

Ah well, each to their own I guess.
But i do agree that the black dye looks pretty bad, will prob cover them in fabric soon. but they do need to be done as they don't match with the rest of the interior.

Should do it on some fairmont door trims rather than GLi ones.

Yeah i actually have some fairmont door trims sitting in the shed...
only problem is the window winders, i either have to cut the door trim up to allow for the window winder or convert to power windows....

do you think dyeing fairmont ghia doortrims black would look any good? and would u keep the woodgrain part the same or change the colour of that too?

also is it worth converting to fairmont ghia seats? or are they close to the same as gli seats.

i think the fairmont trims look fines as they are...
micro swede door card change at the most.
no need to go painting shit or adding vinyl unless its done well.
