CAR TRASHED, STEREO STOLEN

Postby CMYWPN » August 6th, 2007, 2:28 pm

One of my mates has a really nice ED XR8, was parked at rod laver on thursday night and some skunks attempted to break in via the rear quarter window, that didnt work so they punched his lock barrels in and busted his door handles and got in. Helped their selves to two 12 inch subs in a massive custom box, an amp or two , a dvd player and some other goodies like two bottles of wild turkey and some DVD's.
Not sure of the brand names of the subs and amps but ill find out and post them up, that way if anyone hears of anything maybe we can "get justice".

But shows it's up to you to secure your car. Assume your always in the dodegy end of town. Not that locking your car would of helped here.

Well the guy can't complain. If you are not going to protect your car and it's gear, then you have yourself to blame.

Not that but if you don't do anything then don't sook.
Might as well have left is in the original box, on the roof.

Not true, that's the wrong and worst way to look at it.
Most thieves won't bother with an alarm, when there is a unalarmed car next to it.

So make sure you have yours alarmed!!

GUys there was some people caught that night at the concert trying to break in to cars. I dont know if they were charged or that any of the good s that they stole recovered. ONly reason is that my mate was working inside and said that he had heard about this on his radio channel while on the door .

I don't see the drama, hes put up a thread to help his mate, in case anyone hears of the stuff being sold.
Whether he had an alarm or not is a moot point, the bloke still deserves a chance at getting his stuff back.

Are you kidding Wayne? So if you don't have an alarm, you should just cop it on the chin and not give a shit?? Give me a break! Anyone has the right to be pissed if their car is broken into; alarm or not.

I'm not having a go at the thread starter, it certainly does suck to get your gear ripped off.

Not kidding.
Simple facts are that there are low life scum out there to make a quick and easy dollar. If you do nothing to prevent it, then you can't complain. Cars are very easy to get into and most of the time the audio is easy to remove, so you are practically inviting these 'scum' to take your stuff.
I've seen this happen almost everyday.
So the best way to prevent it is an alarm.
Sure you can say "If they want it, they will take it" but ya common smash and grab thief will not bother if there is an alarm. Only ya high end will waste time with an alarm. They would go the car not the stereo.
