Looks half decent. Master Power turbos are a good option- wont disintegrate like the Chinese ones.

You can get decent results using a log manifold.

The kit doesn't mention any kind of inlet or intercooler plumbing, so budget for some more dollars there I guess.

I haven't used the (chinese?) HKS copy wastegates, but I guess EFFalcon reckons they are shit and is probably speaking from experience?

$1650 for the majority of a kit bar cooler and exhaust/dump pipe sounds pretty damn cheap.
Thats about half you pay for snort or other kits.
Considering people dont want to spend huge amounts to turbo their e-series that should be pretty popular!

my wastegate appears to be leaking.
Jared (onereded) had similar issues with the same wastegate.
unless some of the newer ones are better.

it is cheap, some people pay that much for a turbo and oil lines, this u get a manifold too.

So is the turbo alright, or would you be better off paying more for something better?

I read somewhere that the cheap knockoff HKS waste gates are pretty much the same bodies but with cheap internals, when they fail just replace the internal parts with genuine HKS parts.

Although probably best just to get a good name brand one to start with, I know I have decided to stick to all TurboSmart gear when things need replacing on my car.

If stuff is cheap enough though and you can get 12 to 24 months out of it before having to replace it, that could be acceptable.

i'd happily use that turbo/manifold.
i'd just seek a replacement for the wastegate.
which equals a few extra hundred bucks!

sent the guys an e-mail to find out more and if theres a possibility of a group buy, i think we'd need some definate numbers before anything progressed further but this is what he gave me so far

Intercooler is an extra $200 - 600x300x76Piping (Aluminium with joiners) is an extra $250. However, these are not measured for fitment, so extra modification of the piping may be needed. As a kit $1950 with intercooler and piping. (Non group buy) With regards to the group buy, I would have to check with the supplier of the manifold, but yes I believe we could do a group buy. $1499pp for the base kit, turbo, manifold, wastegate, oil lines.. MINIMUM of 6 buyers $1850pp with cooler and aluminium piping. MINIMUM of 6 buyers Problem is with suppliers, but if you start an EOI and get some solid numbers I will get back to you with the status mate.

Buy them and pay for them. I will pick them up and the Vic government will pay for postage to get them to you. + you will owe me a drink when you come to Melbourne.

Would the BA rods and pistons go straight into an E-Series 4.0l block? What compression would it bring it up to? Would the crank fit? Heh.

I wouldn't worry about hi-comp. Look at the LS1's- 10:1 comp ratio and they still love boost.

Needing low comp to run boost is a myth. If you drop it too much you'll just make it a slug off boost.

BA (or AU) rods & pistons slot straight in, but you might need to cut a valve relief to suit the positioning of the SOHC valves (in the case of BA). You have to use AU/BA pistons with AU/BA rods though- they have the gudgeon pin positioned closer to the deck face than an E-series piston.

i have a snort manifold/gate/screamer to get rid of i want a tuned length one now for the positioning of my new turbo. (had a T04e oringinally)

the kits seems pretty cheap for a T70. i just paid 1g for a T70 off a mate, he had two that he was gonna put on his 350 but now im using one on my falcon and so is he ( i converted him :D ) and considering i would sell my stuff ive never even used for roundabout 500-600 its reasonably cheap for a brand new kit.

Its just been confirmed on AFF by Owen (the guy that runs the site, boostdef) that the turbo is NOT a master power, but he's trying to get specs off the distributor. For the price, my money is on cheap chinese knockoff. Bad news for you guys, but makes me feel a lot better about the deal I got :D (s/h but new kkk 600r, wastegate, oil lines, dump and screamer pipes from older snort kit $900).

To fit BA rods and pistons you need to run an AU block and crank as the offset is diffrent to the eseries 4L

Thanks Al.

So if you get an AU engine it's fairly straight forward getting the BA rods and pistons in? What sort of compression would you be looking at? Has anyone actually done this, or is it all theory?

im pretty sure you dont need an AU block because I ran AU Rods and Pistons in an EF block which i rebuilt for my ED but never ended up installing. It all turned over fine and the guy who bought it installed it in his EF with no drama's. the BA conrods are the same size as the AU from memory.
