Help Heal Healsville appeal (Bushfire Aid) SE Melbourne

Postby Schmee » February 13th, 2009, 5:13 pm

My wife and I have some family friends in Healsville, that will be coming down to visit tomorrow, taking a break from the releif centre for some sanity, and they will be taking some stuff back with them that has been collected already

What they really need is.....

Men's Suits, shirts, ties, etc.... This is to be worn as funeral wear so please only suitable attire.
Sanitary Items for women
Toothbrushes and toothpaste
Saline eye drops
Can openers
Activity packs for boys ages 4-10
Rakes, spades, gardening tools etc to help the guys clean up with

This is the first of what may be many of these requests

All items will be delivered directly to the Healsville releif centre as this family can actually get back in there as they live in the area so any of the above items would be greatly appreciated mainly the top 2

I am located in Hampton Park SE Suburbs of Melbourne and I know its short notice but they will be coming down tomorrow just after lunchtime so if you can help you will have to move quickly...unfortunately due to my work commitments I cannot go around and pick these items up, so you do need to drop off

Thanks to any who can help

PM me for drop of addy or call/sms me on 0407 818 059
Cheers Kev

I would like to put out a heartfelt thank you to those who have donated items to this

Our friend has just left and is amazed at the kindness of people and what they have brought to us to help the ones who have nothing

I know it was short notice for this lot, but we had too much here for her to take back so this will be an ongoing thing if you find anything on the above list that you can donate theat would be great, she will down at least once a week to collect more stuff if people are generous enough to donate more

Thank you from my family and I, aswell as the many people that this will help

Cheers Kev

we are extramely glad your friend was amazed with what was donated. i just hope it truly does help them in this time.
i just dont think its ight that everything is gong to Whittlesea and Marysville and other relief centres like Healsville are missing out on it all and hardly have anything.
i know we still have a few things here that didnt fit in the car to bring around so i will box it all up and bring it over at some stage.

i know there was the thread hat pople wanted to get things together to donate. maybe everyone that was going to do that can still do so and then it can all go to Healsville. we could always have everyone drop things at our house and hen bring it all over the trailer when your friend next comes down???

Sorry Kev, didn't find this til now :(

Happy to hear the appeal is turning out successful so far! If there's anything I could do (remotely), let me know. Like, if you're planning on clearing out a Go-Lo store of can openers & kid's games but need a bit of cash for that, I can deposit into your account or something :)

Let me know

Read this thread and was at your place within 40 mins :) Always try to help in anyway. Would have had more but infortunately we were in the same situation with family friends and had given them lots of stuff.

Good to see they are happy, its amazing how appreciative you become when something like this hits you hard.
