a decent ford on boostcruising for once

Postby Simmo » October 1st, 2007, 3:49 pm

for those mexicans who dont know, boostcruising.com is queensland's premier site for pod filters, riced up japboys, dodgy traders and the word 'uleh'. you rarely find a car in member's rides looking good that hasnt had $1mil spent on it.

http://www.boostcruising.com/forums/ind ... pic=240770

this EB XR8 however, looks great and by the specs goes like shit off a shovel.

6L in a ford ftw.

297rwkw, still with standard HO manifolds and 65mm maf and 55mm throttle body. Sorry wait all that power comes from the pod filter, how could I be so stupid.

It's the shiney BBQ plate. It traps all the kws that a HO manifold usually emits (critical mass is reached at 4500rpm wit a HO), and bounces them back into teh Dynoh.

I'm surprised he doesnt have a new tacho to suit that motor.
6L with a HO would be self limited at 3k rpm LOL

The bloke is quite mistaken, i think he means 297kw / 2 which would net him around 148kw at the wheels which is in the ballpark. Even in hp its still wrong.

Must be that tasteful looking gear boot making the extra 148kw, also notice it is apparently painted "custom ferrari le mans red" and yet that is a Ford factory colour and ferrari red is called rosso i am lead to believe.

302 won't stroke past 347. No engine builder in his right mind would bore it out to make up 21 cubes. I highly doubt it's a 351.

Unless you use a motorsports block i.e. ford racing boss block which can be taken out to 130thou giving the 368ci with a 3.4" stroke.

but, "IF" this spooneatingcockmaster has a racing block, surely he would have the good sence to piss off the HO manifold, and standard maf.

Lol. Since 90% of us are banned from AFF, I think it's high time to find another site to get banned from :p

Boostcruising it is :)

Also LOL@ "estimated power" - who did the estimating? 'Sif you wouldn't dyno tune a 6 litre windsor FFS, and therefore actually KNOW the power output.

That car looks really nice, apart from the wheels and panel damage, why pretend it's a six litre? Just BTW, the VZ HSV 6 litres have 297 flywheel kW, I wonder if he is getting confused?

That cars a local here in Grafton I think, even though the profile says Coffs (80kms down the road), I see it here quite often.

No way its got near on 400kw@fly, guys pullin himself.
It sounds like a cammed 5L and a huge zorst, n it looks rougher in real life than it does in the pics, though the wheels do look ok.

-- dunno if its the same car, but his profile states a 12.2 1/4 mile time.

hey guys the only thing standard about the induction is the actual induction housing. all the induction internals have been ripped out and replaced.

and you can stroke it further it is a 368 pro stroker kit.

Erm... "induction housing", it that a fancypants term for "MAF, t/b, HO manifold"?

Translation: "The only thing standard about induction is the fact that it has a standard induction setup."

So it's got Dr. Who "TARDIS" mods, where the outside looks constrictive (HO manifold, t/b & MAF) but teh inside is uber ported out for HUGE flow?

As for 368ci pro-stroke and an assumed Windsor block... Yeah nah.

Must be a fully sick fake engine cover that makes the top end look hektic stock so the 5-0 don't book him and others can't see his super turbo uber top secret induction housing that turns your regular pod filtered 165kw ho windsor into a 400kw monster.

Ban him from life!

haha.

Shame, a huge stroked XR8 with the motorsport block would be badass, esp. if it had a twin throttle setup.
