The most you've ever filled the tank?

Postby Simple6 » December 18th, 2009, 6:37 pm

So whats the most amount of petrol you've been able to squeeze into your tank?

Today I managed to get 70.03L into my EB sedan's tank, considering my trip comp said (I know it can lie!) 42kms left and theres only a 68L tank, I think its not too bad!...and at 124.9c/L thats $90 out of my pocket!

Just trying to see how full it can go!

Time for some advanced mathematics: the most liquid you can fit in a 68 litre tank is 68 litres. Any additional fuel is in the filler neck.

I'm pretty sure I've put 72 or 74 litres in my old EB when I was on holiday and drove to cairns and back, got around 750km to a tank on more than one occasion...

dont know with the Falcon. But my Calais (with 80l tank) would get to max 75L.... and sometimes would cost over $120 to fill... back in the hectic days of $1.60ish fuel prices. all for a commodore. sadtimes

Well I figured it'd all be in the neck of the tank but to get an extra 4 or 6L - its got to be pretty fckn empty!

When I do the trip from the ACT to the Goldy I fill up both LPG and petrol tanks and I have a range just short of 1400km. Only have to stop to empty the bladder and maccas.
