Car Removal best $$$ in Melb

Postby Barnsy » January 28th, 2010, 9:29 am

I am looking at getting a car removed, what is the going rate places offer to take a complete car away in Melbourne?
Can people suggest a few places that may offer more $$$?
Car is a NA Fairlane if that helps.

Cheers

i got 350 for an ED shitter in Kilsyth. Try the ford wreckers in Kilsyth on canterbury road. Dunno about an NA but it is worth a shot.

Metal prices have dropped a shitload in the last year. About a year and a half ago Gill got over $200 for a completely and utterly fkd Telstar. You wouldn't get 1c for it now.

Best price last year was about $145 per tonne. A stripped car would weigh about 500-600kg? so you're going to get about $70 for the car if it's just a shell.

Car is located in Blackburn South. and is still registered until 7/2/10

Personally for $200 i'd let it go but its my mum's car and she has this idea in her head that she spent all this money recently to keep the car running that it would still be worth $500+ .

I told her i'd try and get rid of it for her here in Melb in hopes of getting a better price.

Long story short if I can't get $350 for it I will have to drive it back to Ocean Grove to sit & rust in the backyard.

She tells me this after I drive the bloody thing all the way to melb....wtf!

I bought a EL GLi for $300 in above average condition.

Had it on the road with 6 months rego the next day for still less than $600.

An NA wouldn't be worth much at all to anyone.
