FM Drag Day Reflections, Pics etc. NOT DIAL UP FRIENDLY

Postby Kenaz » November 11th, 2007, 9:47 am

I just want to start off by saying a huge thankyou to the FordMods guys for organising this day. I had an absolute ball! The day went really well with the exception of a bit of rain just before Tea. There wasn't heaps of cars running, but there was still some pretty sweet rides. That silver XY(?) comes to mind :)

On a personal level it was the first time out for my XR6T and I was absolutely stoked to run a 13.97 @ 101 mph :D I started the day off running a 14.6 and I was pretty shattered, but I kept persisting with different launch techniques and the times kept dropping. My other highlights for the night were winning the Most Improved trophy and getting taken for a blast down the 1/4 in Steve's (dcstraight) beast. Thanks again, mate!

I've got quite a few pics and a video to post up. I'll have them up shortly :)

Good stuff Ash! There was another guy there with a stockish manual xr6t who only ran high 14's. Auto FTW.

My bike couldnt crack the 12's :( best run was 13.05 at 105mph.

It was a pretty good afternoon, i wish the was ea was ready for it.

Id also like to thank the FM guys for running the day. My first time down the quarter, definately got alot to improve on. Ran 16.6's all day, not too fussed about it, was mainly there to rip some skids, lol!!

Awesome day it is. My car copped an absolute canning. I have about 20 or so individual timeslips from the day but by the end it was just about the warm up burnout. Was happy to take out the Best Tyre Fryer trophy. W00t

Mine was being very difficult. I wanted photos of burnouts, and everytime someone went to one side, it would spin the opposite side

What a great day, big thanks to the Fordmod guys for organising the meet.
Thought it was going to be one of those days with the overflow bottle hose splitting as I pulled up at the track, but it was all good. Track was very slippery but still managed a 13.96 @ 102mph.

Just waiting for the all performance challange at Heathcote next Saturday. Anyone else entering??

Nice vids Moosey, that first one is great. I hate how the guys at Heathcote get all narky about someone doing a decent skid it's not like it was a test and tune with 60 + cars wanting runs. I can't wait to get back up there, I'd love to get out on the pad one day.

ELXR8 your car sounds and looks fucking HOT! Love the plates too. :D

Hahaha, nice video!
2nd gear limiter burnouts.
I didn't realise i was on it for so long. (well it didn't seem like it when i was driving)
I shoulda stayed there for a bit longer, and smoked the joint out!
Although Mooseman did a great job of that all night!
Definately deserved that Trophy, good big consistent burnouts all night!
