i got quoted $3500 for a full re-spray exactly the same colour, is this cheap, and is there somewhere or someone who can do it cheaper?

probably find someone on here would do it for less. being the same colour its better beacause you dont really have to worry about in the door gaps and under the bonnet etc.

sounds about right, you really want to see what type of work they do before you drop the car off though. See if you can look at a few car's they've painted cause there are so many panel shops that do shit work out there. Go with someone who has made a bit of a name for themselves and looks professional. BTW, if i was painting ur car I'd want way more than a few slabs lol....people don't realise the work that is involved!

LOL, I spent 2 days (inc drying time between coats) doing my mirror covers on the ED. They've never chipped or discoloured or anything, and I only used spray packs (plastic primer 2 coats, colour x6, clear x2), but I'd hate to do anything larger, that's why my moulds stayed grey.

I urinated on my car once and it went back to bare metal.

I'm doing all the prep on my car ATM, and as others have said it is a pain in the mofo ass. I'm not doing door/boot jams and still it takes for fucking ever to get anything to a decent standard, and at the end of the day all you have is an E-Series that has shiny new paint 'YAY'. You would probably get more attention and pull more looks if you went to your car with a hammer and strategically placed massive **** off dents all over the kent.

My advice would be to put the 3.5k towards a better car or some Performance mods, and just put up with having 12/13 year old paint.

yeh as said. id put the money towards a new car or a turbo.
hell if ya really keen and got some time on ya hands maby sand it all back etc and just pay somone to do the spraying. the sanding and taping up is the hard part of the job.
