blown diff!!!

blew mi diff last week! chirped 2nd a little 2 hard apparantly lol. spat the hole diff center backwards & blew the aluminium backing plate 2 pieces!! any other boys n girls had anything similar happen or was this just a "freak" accident? haha
RIP 5sp sigma! best $150 ever spent!! sadly rolled 3 times haha

it wont drive at all just makes lots of scary crunching/grinding noises... iv got a diff arriving mid next week.. out of a el xr8.. a old bloke bought the xr brand new n babyd it then wrote it off last week (front impact).. so i scored that 4 $450 just gota put in in when she gets here.... :mrgreen:

that happned 2 my mate with his xf blew a big hole in the diff and oil was just everywhere

Diff backing plates usually smash when a wheel smacks a gutter... Im impressed you smashed it gearchanging!

well i can assure u i didnt hit a gutter haha n yes there was a shit load of stinkn diff oil.. im just glad it didnt happen when i was on holidays. woulda made it quite interesting!!

i completely shredded the diff in a 4sp manual corona paddock basher. gunning it through dirt track to pick up mates slammed to third and BANG!!! metal bouncing round the housing. they make a decent noice when they go (if u do it properly ;) )

haha mine wasnt quite as bad as that but seeing that picture brings back chilling thoughts haha.. i blew the diff in the sigma 2, but we picked it up with the tractor and welded it up and wata-ya-no, instant locker!! haha :mrgreen:
