Window Winder Wire Snapped

Postby EDFalcon » February 2nd, 2008, 2:07 pm

Hey everyone,

Fixing up my brothers car (EA Wagon) and its all good except the wire for the window winding mechanism is broken. I've got all the door trim off and the plastic protector, also released the window from the assembly that goes up and down, but i cant get the wire out to replace it. The wire is twisted around the wheel it sits on and cant just wind off. Anyway, Is there anyway that the winder assembly (the bit the wire twists around) can come out because it looks like it's riveted to the door.

I thought maybe some people here might know because they may have done a electric window conversion or had the same problem at some stage.

Cheers,
Steven

just replace the whole window winder mechanism

pundh the centre out of the rivets and drill them out then replace them with the new window winder mechanism..(window regulator) and all will be good again
