BEM/BCM Help

Postby danny_ » February 2nd, 2012, 12:53 pm

Hey guys,
I was just wondering if the BEM is the same as the BCM? And which one of these need to be reprogrammed by Ford to work?
I'm keen on installing power windows to my Forte (wind up windows all round ) and I read somewhere on the forum that I'd need to get a Fairmont/Fairlane BEM for the windows to actually work once they're all wired up.

Sorry for the noobiness!

You don't need to do that.

Chop the loom out of a fairmont and there will be 2 wires that need power and earth.

Wire them through a fuse to your battery and your done.

Ah, thank God!
Makes it a lot easier, but still would be a long and hard job I presume.

Do you have to take the whole dash of to put in the new looms?
Sorry if it's a stupid question, just want to get as much information about it.

The loom that needs to be replaced connects near the kick panel, so you only need to remove the seats/carpet/console and probably some stuff in the boot.

Is it just the looms that I need? Cause I was told I need a High Series BEM on another forum so I'm a bit confused as to what I really need.
