Has anyone got these tyres? I was told by the local Bob Jane that they are a copy of the bridgstone turanza and is actually made in their factory. Their old design was a Khumo design but I found the compound too hard but the ridgy didge Khumos were great!

Looking at the BJ XenonZ7 they look to be better than the old Xenon range. And you cant argue with the price. $159 for 225/50/R16 and $179 for 235/45/R17 and that's with out asking for a discount


So if you have these tyres let me know of your opinion!

Have you looked at Toyo Proxies 4, they are a softer compound, great in the wet

Damn, is that how much new tyres are worth these days! The last time I bought a set was waaay back when I got the 18's for my AU. I got the Kumho Ecsta KU31's for $185 each! That was 235/40/18! Dunno how much they are worth these days, but I would have to say they are up there with the best tyres I have ever driven on.

I've got the Z7's in 235/45/R17... went for a roady and needed tyres that day, so I got these.

They are cheap enough, ok in the dry but useless in the wet.

lookin at them partly for speed rating cuz im planning on doing some of the free race days that are on, and dont wanna have to change tires nor do i want tires that wanna kill themselves at high speed lol

Have a look into the Firestone Firehawk Wide Oval; made in Australia by Bridgestone.
I had them on a previous car and they were quite stable in wet and dry. Can't remember how much I paid but it wasn't excessive. I'll be getting another set once I wear out the Xenons.

I'm pretty happy with my Toyo Teo's.. 235/45-17's. Were below $200 from memory.
Was some hardcore rain today here, aquaplaned slightly, most people were pulling off the highway tho. I felt safe still. Good all rounders.

Gave these another test in the wet today... A++
Found the receipt too, $162 fitted.

Your other option is what i do on my GTR.

I buy S/H rubber from, tyre importers.

I used Continental Sport contact 2 Vmax, 80 to 85% tread for $100 each fitted.

New would not get you one for what i pay for the 4 tyres.

go the silverstone FTZ-sports 235/45R17 you wont find a tyre that grips better and is as quiet as them for the price ($110-140ish range depends where you go)

they grip better than sp3000a's and are about 20x quieter.
not the longest tyre life but then again im fairly hard on my tyres

Some good suggestions, Its raining here and I have good rubber on the back and stuffrd on the front, yet the front yohohamas didnt hesitate when the rears were being punnished in 2-3rd via the famous canberra round abouts.

They're made by Goodyear... I didnt claim they were the best, but for their price, theyre pretty fukin good. Have you driven a car with Bluestreak Stilettos?

Maxxis MA-Z1 are supposed to be quite good. They are the next tire im fitting on the Force.

They are $249 for 245/35/19, so I'd expect the 16's and 17's would be a fair bit less. Guys who have bought them have said they are comparable/slightly better than the Dunlop Sport Maxx that came from the factory.

I have Bridgestone Potenza RE001 Adrenalines on the front of my EB.

Highly recommended.

I also have a set all round on the mx5 and only just replaced a pair on the front of that after 10,000kms (only worn on the inside, but to the canvas - such is the cost of massive negative camber (Deliberate))

I've been using firestone firehawk wideoval's, I only got 20,000km's out of them.. but I wasn't really nice to them either.

They were soo good in the wet compared to my bridgestone AE92's and a set of yokohama's, silverstone's and also champiro's.
If the car ever did slide out on a corner in the wet, you'd have no trouble at all getting control back.

For a while I was scared to drive my car in the wet with my old tyres, until I got the firestones.... then the wet didn't worry me one bit.


When these were new, they needed a fair bit of throttle to get spinning in the wet...

they are a very goooood tyre but life treadwear is like 150 on them or something so they dont last very long, but can get 235/45R17 for like 150-180 mark... they are semi slick style and have excellent grip

I had the kuhmo ku36 on 2 cars. And omg talk about grip. Best tires I've had.
