welding diff housing.

Postby lawrh103 » June 12th, 2012, 7:49 pm

Hi folks, just wondering if pulling the Ute axle tubes off my xg(drilling welds out) and welding them to a El LSD i picked up will work, assuming I make a bit of a jig to keep things aligned. Just don't want to have to pay to have diff set up and I don't have enough equip to set it up properly so I'm thinking leave it alone. Any though would be much appreciated!

I'd get it done by someone who has a jig.

From what I have heard, it would be easier for you just to swap the centres over.

Yep.

If you get one of the axle tubes .5mm out you will have trouble.

It's only $200 to get centers swapped over usually...

Definitely not worth the hassle of attempting to swap axle tubes! If you screw it up you'll have two buggered diffs on your hands.

Pay someone to swap the centres over.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.
