Best 6 to turbo.

Postby Akuma » June 20th, 2012, 7:02 pm

Hi fellow Falcon junkies,
Im looking at buying An AU engine from the wreckers as i was told that they are the best Pre BA engines to turbo charge. Is this correct? Do they all have the crankshaft/block cradle or was that XR6 only?

I also have at my disposal a EA closed chamber head, from what ive heard they are pretty magic on the AU block, i was just worried about the increase of compression being to high (although i am no stranger to turbocharging high comp engines), what are the main differences between the heads.

BTW this engine is going into my EA burnout car with either a HX50 or 4508 turbo.

One more thing, if i was to use an E series station wagon diff in a AU station wagon would it enable me to use wider wheels? (different car  )

Thanks, and sorry if its posted in the wrong place

Covered in heaps of other threads, but the gist is: yes, AU engine is best. Except the rods. Get BA E-Gas or Typhoon rods and you'll be golden.

Why waste spool rods when f6 or bf 2 or newer pistons and rods will take 400 rwkw all day

Your missing the point that the standard pistons will shit out at anything near 450rwkw ;) the rods will be fine
