Ford Dealer Flashing

Postby Sunboost » June 8th, 2012, 9:25 am

I need to get my BF flashed back to stock as it's tuned and I didn't get the tuner with it.

Ford dealers in my area want around $110 for what I'm lead to believe is a very simple process.

Is there anyone here that knows of another way of doing this without being charged that stupid price? Or has anyone had this done without being charged, from any dealers other than Etheridge or Yarra Ranges?

Others can do it (reputable mechanics etc) but it requires special equipment. You need a Ford WDS or another device to circumvent the secure key required to flash it.

$110 isn't too bad if it's drive-in drive-out and includes checking fault codes and stuff.

not WDS anymore , its been superceeded by IDS now, any Ford dealer will charge you an hours labour to connect the IDS to a car, its just standard pricing

Yeah Herrod called it IDS. I might take it to them, they said they'd do the injectors for the $100 as well :D

I felt bad for you. But is the car ok right when you bought it? I guess you should have tested these parts and accessories randomly so that you can reduce costs and back jobs. Just saying.:)
