Isn't a G6E about as corporate as you can get?

I noticed on a thread at AFF last week that they were getting pretty close to giving out the good details, and an engine bay pic. After owning a G6ET and driving a NA FG, I'd really like to see how this one stacks up, and also drive a EcoLPI.

Yeah someone on AFF posted up a review on it.
said it didnt Feel as strong as the 6, but certainly not bad.

EcoLPi all the way.
But the EcoBoost has its place too.

I doubt it...
If anything the Lpi would benefit from some modding.
I'm sure some torque parameters in the 6spd plus some engine cal mods would get it cooking even moreso.

I'd go the LPI, but I just want to drive the EB for curiosity's sake.

In the US cunce have upped the boost for the EB with good results.

I reckon if you could get another 20-30kw out of it it would be a great thing. Mate had an XR5 turbo and it was a fkn balltearer and realistically, could smoke nearly anything you could line up against it.

sounds good. i hope it delivers in sales. i thought the lpi was a great thing when it came out and it would certainly boost sales, haven't really seen that though.

in the comments below that link they said, on highway driving it could go under 6l/100. what more could you want out of a big, rear wheel drive, family car.

anyone know what it can tow.

yeah would love to see one of these in an older falcon, like an EB or EF- would be totally different and in the lighter body should go well. I dare some one to do it! BE first I4T conversion in Aus, the car wil forever be remembered...like JETXR :drinks2:

Another bump.

MOTOR magazine tested an EcoBoost G6E against a Mercedes E200 and Audi A6 2.0 TFSi in this months issue, with an automatic XR6 tagging along for the lols.

G6E cleaned up. Was the most powerful, fastest and cheapest (by $40k), with just the interior and equipment letting it down, which you'd expect when comparing it to an A6 and E-Class. But you could fuel the G6E for 300,000km with the savings instead of buying either Euro car.
The Audi returned 9.0L/100km, G6E 9.3L and Merc 9.6L. But the Audi and Mercedes have to have 95RON minimum, whereas the G6E takes 91 or E10. The G6E was getting 6.0L/100 @ 110km/h on a highway too.

16.34@85.31mph, 0-100 in 8.88 sec for the Mercedes.
16.66@84.23mph, 0-100 in 9.05 sec for the Audi.
15.49@92.3mph, 0-100 in 7.75 sec for the G6E.
15.4 @92.1mph, 0-100 in 7.29 sec for the XR6. The XR6 also returned 10.5L/100km on the same drive, so it's not exactly half bad either.

There was an interesting note that the EcoBoost feels like it's had the shifts softened up in the ZF auto, possibly so it doesn't beat the XR6. It also feels a lot better through the steering apparently, and the EcoBoost is much smoother than the 6cyl high in the revs.

Perhaps Ford could start advertising this shit, so they could actually sell some.

Well by November they reckon.
This happens each time around EBA negotiation time tho.
Company cries poor, Union settles for bugger all rises.
Then things resume as normal after that. But with sales figures so declined its now getting serious.

Nearly seems like Ford Australia don't want to sell a Falcon with lack of Lpi and EBoost advertising!! Sad sad sad.
The only ecoboost media I've seen is the excellent written reviews in columns of comparison tests.

Ford advertising sucks girraffe balls. Almost to the point that I think some high up people in ford are getting paid by holden to **** the company up from the inside.

The current falcon is a bloody good car for the money, and the 4 cylinder engine looks like a ripper as well, but nobody apart from wheels/motor readers have ever heard about it.

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.
