Frost - they have these wonderful things now called 'camera phones'. I'm thinking your sister probably has one, and you or one of your mates does. Get your sis to take a pic of the car (and, for the hell of it, one of herself too) and sms the pics to you, so you can post them up here. No costly plane rides to the other end of the country required :D

If you can't manage that, I'll PM you my number and your sister can sms me direct ;)

On the subject of new cars being worth SFA atm, we have/had a blue 07 VE Calais (leather, single DVD screen, V6, absolutely mint condition vehicle) with 65,0000km on it for 22,999 drive away  That might be normal but I near spat chips when I saw it - esp as a certified holden used car.

The fact I'm not that keen on any sub $200k new cars for sale today probably helps my decision, but I feel owning an ED and spending 10k/year on mods and maintenance beats the shit out of buying a newer car and losing 10k/year on depreciation
Image

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

I will adjust some Minor Comments.

BF MK2 End 07 Plated X Defence with 30,000km went for $14k
The BF MK1s with 80-100,000km are going for 8-9.5k

The only things that are holding there value smashed or not they are going for a bit.

Astra Turbo Diesels
Hyandi i30s
WV Golf Diesels and any other Jap or Euro diesels.

Fowels/Pickles wont be holding New car Public Liquidations until March next year they reckon.

Bumpy McGee's.

You can't give a BA XR6T away now. Even if it's in mint condition, it'll get lost between all the half-arsed modified nuggets for sale in the Northern Suburbs that constantly spam CarSales and eBay. $10k will probably buy you something decent if you look hard enough.

I think the other reason for them not selling is that everyone's thinking the same thing; spend a couple of thou more and get yourself a post 06/06.

The early BA's arent worth shit because they lack a 6 speed - auto or manual.

I think that's what John was saying.

I'd turbo a E series before buying a BA i think. Enjoyed the company hack BA i had a few years ago, but I guess they are now in the same league as VL's

I sold my BA nearly 6 months ago and got my FG for not much more. winning lol. (BA was decked out tho i guess)

Don't forget BF's are newer hence they should be more expensive than BA's.. soon enough FG's will be cheap as chips too.

Nearly time to find a unmodified mint low km BA T and hide it away for safe keeping!

exactly what i was saying.
I don't think i'd want to end up in a XR6T with a BTR, unless it was staying dead stock.

I like my BA, but its not a 6 :P

What's wrong with the BTR? Fair few blokes around here seem to be pushing decent numbers through them? Obviously a ZF is far superior, but the BTR isn't that bad is it?

power isnt the only thing, ZF's get better fuel economy, perform better, drive better.

Its alot of car for 10k 4 speed or not... my first car was a clapped out el fairmont for 10k from the auctions and el xr6 and xr8 were about 17++++ around 20 mark... all as far as im concerned not very good cars even back then compared to what you get now.. young people are lucky these days (except the power restrictions ofcourse) these days you can pick up so much car for 10k i see v6 vz calais for very very low teens prob could scrape one in near 10... even a vr calais was drug money back then in 2003 i dont look at ghias etc... but im assuming you can get ba fairmont ghias for next to nothing now aswell.

If you want a bit of go xr6t or ls1 can be got for nothing too... back in my young days you couldnt get anything with half decent go... prob why power restrictions are so much worse now... couldnt do much damage with the old ss or xr lol
