EFII Bonnet & Bumper Swap.

Postby citylimits » October 15th, 2012, 9:42 am

Having decided to boost my EFII S/W six cyl. with XR6 components I now want to smarten up the front body work by replacing the original parts. I've found an EFII Fairmont for the parts I need.
Here is the question I could use some help with from you fella's. As well as the bonnet and bumper and headlights, how much of the slam panel/bonnet catch do I need from the donor car?

The donor car also has a LSD. With my EFII S/W soon to be running an XR6 spec engine I thought that it might be a worth while addition to my car to fit the LSD from the donor car. I think the the diff ratios are different with the LSD better suited to the XR6 engine.

Cheers, Bruce.

Fairmont stuff is straight bolt on to your EFII. The bonnet catch will need to be replaced with the one off the Fairmont, as the latching locations are different. Also, you will probably need the headlight looms as well.

Diff ratios are different yes, but the diff won't bolt up to your wagon. if you want the LSD with 3.45:1 ratios, you'll need to take it to a diff joint to swap over the centres into your wagon diff.

You won't need the headlight looms.
