T5 questions and clutch

Postby SHY4L » September 19th, 2013, 8:37 pm

Hey guys

So driving home the other day in my ed xr6 5 speed and I went from 2nd to 3rd gear from around 60kph to 80kph and all of a sudden the cars clutch felt different.

It went as if when I accelerated it would slip from around 3k rpm onwards, and then every time I went to changed gear it found gear but I had to release the clutch all the way out and only then would it start to engage and I could drive.. A lot of rev and riding of the clutch just to drive in 1st. At the very end of the pedal would it start to engage.

So really my question is anyone had this? I know when my clutch is going, but was perfect before this... I recently snapped a clutch cable and thinking over adjustment could put to much pressure on fork and bend it or could it be something simple like just a clutch plate.

Cheers

sounds like it has killed the clutch if it is slipping like that. Replace the clutch and you should be right. Not likely to bend a throw out fork, but I have a spare here if you have

Sounds like a collapsed pressure plate.
Just swap it all out for a new kit and she'll be right.
My brothers one snapped some bolts holding the pressure plate on and it made it feel like my foot traveled a metre.

have you checked the firewall where the clutch cable goes through? It might be split?
