Inner EB sill rust issue

Postby Jdg1 » January 3rd, 2014, 4:31 pm

Hi everyone,

New to this forum, but long time car/ e series fan. Now I know there is many discussions on here in the past regarding the common rust in ea-Ed sill panels, but haven't come across this.
Bought an eb falcon months ago now, 1 owner, awesome condition, & I have spent lots of time cleaning & modifying. The other day a mate of mine was replacing a tyre on the front when the jack collapsed & went through the sill due to unnoticed rust. When I had a closer inspection, I noticed the front inner sill section had badly rusted. It seems a little drastic to replace the car after all this hard work & I'm in love with it but, just wanted to know if anyone has had similar rust issues fixed, or whether it's too far gone. I'm assuming someone can fix it, I'm not really worried about $$$. Photos to follow.........

I had a rust hole probably 3-4cm across on the outer sill of my ED, I cut it out and cut a section out of a wreck I had and welded it back in.. Should be the same story for the inner sill I would imagine..
