Turbo conversion ea ?

Postby PULN3S » June 4th, 2014, 5:46 pm

Hey all, not sure if this is the correct area for this post as I'm the new here and never used forums before , but anyways have a fee questions about turboing my ea .

I'm used to commodores and have a good knowledge on what needs to be done etc in order to convert them properly but I've recently come over to falcons and it's a whole new game to me ...

I have a ea ghia factory manual . 3.9 mpfi .

Planning to do a budget conversion on it (budget not dodgey) I know you get what you pay for and all the rest of it but as I'm not after a whole lot I'm trying to keep it simple and cheap kind of like a factory turbo kit on a vl .

I'm planning to make my own log manifold internal gated to keep it simple and cheaper , my own piping etc basically what I'm after is some links to similar conversions or threads with some knowledge about it or comments.

As in alignment issues .what size turbo will be decent(not after big numbers , pretty much after just that little more kick maybe 10 or so psi. Was honestly thinking a t3 for now although I know it's probably a bit undersized)

What size cooler tucks away behind front bar etc. although that's all just for advice as I could over come that myself.

I'm really after the management side of things ... Can the factory ecu adapt to a small amount of boost or what needs to be done in order to run properly , upgrade injectors etc ? If there's a guide or anything it would be much apriciated . I want it to run comfortably not trying to push extra boost through and risk blowing it up . I want it to be as reliable as possible . It's only a weekend car and a fun car ( blow a few sets here and there )

Thanks .
