Annoying exhaust rattle

Postby Fairmont888 » March 14th, 2008, 11:23 pm

for a while now the exhaust on my EL Ghia has been making a rattling sound, it stopped for a while and then came back, it seems to be louder when the car is in reverse. just wondering is it likely to be the honeycomb shit from the cat converter breaking and rattling around??

I've been starting to hear a little rattling myself in my EF. Anyone got any ideas?

My ea's cat converter sheild thing starterd to come off one day and made it rattle. i just rapped some coat hangar wire around it.
My ef's last muffler disconected from the pipe at a bend that goes near the wheel, a rubber band was off so when we would turn it would rub against the wheel... i'd say its more likely to be the first than the second.

probably honeycomb cat stuff

1. take cat off car

2. bash honeycomb stuff out with metal rod

3. put modded hi flow cat back on car

rattle fixed

just take the heat shield crap off and keep it as far away from the floor pan as possible. Its a pain I realised but thats what fixed my cat rattle.
