i like it! Can't wait till i'm old enough to drive/afford an XR6T or G6ET.

I think the launch control thing is to make it have not to much power at takeoff, to save the driveline and stuff. So you can't do skids as easily? would that be right? with the launch control would the manual T will be closer to the auto when dragging etc.? i've never driven a turbo car.....

Cars have always looked like other cars, except for the AU, and well, look at the success that had... lol

The launch control is interesting, although I've driven a few BA/BF F6's, and they don't exactly struggle to turn the wheels on take-off. From how they have described it though, it IS a power limiting thing. Pumping air from the compressor back through the turbine isn't going to make more power.

No side mouldings sucks, opening the door onto a pole is about to get a whole lot more expensive. Unique tyre sizes that are FG-specific also suck.

Any more info on the 5speed auto? Sif no more BTR :(

Holden's WB range didn't do too bad with utes (and Statos) and lasted until 1984, depending on the wagon market (Telstra, etc), the BF"3" wagon may still have relatively decent sales.

I think management of Ford Oz needs a shake up and needs to stop playing the game so safe or they could end up like Bitsamissing Oz.

On a completely different and unrelated tangent, I've only just noticed that BF Fairlane Ghias and LTDs have chrome backed mirrors. Has anyone else noticed this? It's one of those things I'm not sure if I like or not. And the BF SRs are the the hottest S/SR model I've ever seen IMO.

The shape of the bulge on this pic reminds me of the BA GT concept car.

Sounds like the GT-E might be the next Force 8.

Ford US really need to pull their finger out and let the Falcon be exported. Australia's large car market is dying in the arse, but countries like Saudi Arabia, China, Korea and always the US would sell the arse off these.

And I've just noticed, still no projector beam lights!

IMO the latest falcon is a BIG let down. I like the look of the front end of the FPV cars but the ford cars are all wrong. Why are all cars going European flavoured in styling... which every other competitor is trying to achieve, why not differentiate itself? E series the last of the real man's falcon, thats a real aussie looking car, forget this European influence.

Seems that they're targeting the european car drivers with the look, yet its a ford so they won't buy it. And for those who want a ford, it looks like a european car so they won't buy it. = Ford bankruptcy. Why not bring out a 2008 version of the EA.. now that would be hot :) :) :)

Unfortunately they still haven't gotten rid of that fucking awful roof shape and design. I think they were trying to fix up the doors on this model though. So people could actually get out of the back doors.
The FG, and BA/BF's would have looked so much better without the 'dome' roof from the AU's. A nice flat 'E-Series' roof would've have made them look so much tougher and cleaner.

I reckon they will. There should be a payable option to run no front plate. It's not compulsary in some countries overseas. The owners could do what some purist MX5 owners do and keep copping the fines coz they believe it just looks wrong.

prices are out April 1st. so that would be a RRP based on a new BF Mk2 XR8. they expect the FG XR8 to be around $1500 more than a BF Mk2 XR8 RRP.

saying that, ive been quoted $50,778 for a FG XR8 (black manual), with luxury pack, 12 months rego, stamp duty and all that shit.

but the place im getting through said "wait until april 1st when the prices come out, because then we will have a definate price" ... because they dont have an XR8 in the 'first batch' so if i put my deposit down last week id still get the car the same time as if i wait out to early april

They are really getting about my area now. I see at least 3-4 of them a day driving about. G6 turbo, xr6 turbo's, utes, xr8, xr6, base model falcon the lot. Lined up against an fg xr8 on pascoe vale road lights, the guy just looked at me like wtf when he relized i was right next to him from stand still to 80km limit ;) .

No gt's being driving yet. Base models look very nice compared to the VE's. Looks nice as and sticks out from other cars, but in a good way.

Was driving next to a G6E Turbo on the way to uni today - looks mint in the flesh!

That was the only photo I had time to take, was in a mad rush to get to a meeting with my supervisor (and he didn't even end up being there  )

The dude driving it didn't look very impressed when he realised I took a photo, whenever he was near me in traffic or at lights he slowed down real early so I couldn't get a good look :P

I can't wait to buy one of these cars in a few years time after they take a big depreciation dive.
