was this based on those "ready to install kits"? Like the ones from Airbagit.com? How much modifying and fabricating was needed, was it just as simple as replacing the springs and shocks with the bags?

yeah no worries i'll get some pics of the set up for ya, to get the bags in u need a whole new upper arm made (mine was done by sean mullins race cars out of chrome molly tube) the bottom of the standard strut needs to be cut off and welded to the air strut, the top of the strut where it mounts needs to have new holes drilled. For the rear because the bag sits where the spring used to be the shocker has to be removed and relocated, and then drilling holes and running power leads and air lines, also the interior needed to be riped out (all seats and center console) to run lines for the air guages, the kit i am using is from BOSS air suspension they r a mob in queensland, from what they told me it was going to be a fairly easy kit to install but not true, as well as buying the kit u need the arms made and new shockers for the rear (havn't put them in yet so not sure about them) and the welding of the struts.

That's a shit-load of work. But at least it's done now and it's something original for an Aussie Falcon.

I have a massive erection.

I wonder how well bags and quarter mile/drifting go together.........

How does it feel to drive? More or less body roll compared to stock? Stiffer or softer? Does it feel stiffer or softer depending on the ride height or does it stay the same?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

there is another way to do it which was done to a mate of mines NC LTD

they replace the stock strut with 4" tubing and reweld the strut top onto the tubing so it bolts up like factory
then they fabricated the bottom to be the same as the stock strut

and the airbag goes at the bottom

then relocated the shock to the front i think it was of the new strut and just bolted it to a new bracket on the body

and in the rear pretty much the same

its all "legal" just needs the digital controller and slower valves

your valves look slow as or are you running small airlines??

looks phat tho dude!! good work
8-)

Was the burgandy one done by a mechanics son in the factory's next to the kilysth tip?

The bags in the front of the XR is actually a strut with adjustable shocker built in bit more expensive but alot neater.

Next time the kaddis machine is on a hoist il post some pics of the bags / setup

im not entirely sure where the shop was.. but i know the guy worked for Cali Customs prior to him selling/shutting up shop i believe

ive only heard bad things about the air can type setups(metal like a giant shocky).. but the air struts are apparently pretty good(airBAG with shock inside)

apparently the chassistech gear is pretty ordinary too

head to downundertruckin.com for more good info on the stuff
