Bad dyno or is my car just shit.

Postby Frost » March 31st, 2008, 4:45 pm

Hi There,

I ran my car on the dyno on the weekend, got 122RWKW, was pritty shattered as my XR put out 126 Stock Manual, and this car would woop my XR's ass.

Iv got 4.0LT, Cam, Extractors, Zorst, and the heads been cleaned up.(No idea what else has been done)

So is my car shit or the Dyno operators have no idea, they were fairly new to it,the dyno appently hasnt been calibrated.

Examples of other cars with variances were a couple of Gen 3s producing around 220 on other dyno dynamic dynos and around 180 - 190 on this one.

Who cares ? Did you put it on the dyno to get a wanky number for your signature, or just to check AFR's etc. If you want to see if it makes good power, run it down the 1/4, it's the only real way.

Dyno's FTL!

I pulled 113rwkw on the same dyno, same day in my ED, which pulled had previously pulled 98rwkw pre-manual with a blocked cat in Hallam, so I think the Castlemaine dyno was fairly on the mark.

Every dyno will give different figures, but my old ED I6 with cam, tune, exhaust/extractors pulled 126rwkw. Similar to yours i guess.

A 165kw will pull about 115 at the treads. Well both my stock LTD and XR8 did.

Only run on a trusted dyno with a trusted operator. Anything else is a waste of time and money.
