I'm guessing the EA-ED still have squared shapes compared to EF-EL

Fordmods was primarily EF/EL
so to them EA-ED was boxy

yeah started as a EF/EL vs EB-ED thing.
EB-ED owners embraced that sht.

Just a boring fact, XD-XF's don't have one flat panel on them, they all taper slightly, just to make seemingly easy panel repairs a PITA.

I've always found panels with 'shape' in them easier to repair...dead flat panels tend to stretch, and have high spots, leading to heat shrinking and arrghh!
