Here's the thread I made back on the 08/02/2003 about my sick bro EA S Pack that I'd just purchased and with the help of my cousin driven back from Penrith NSW.

As some of you may know, I have been planning for the last three months to buy Venom XR's old SI 5 Spd CFI EA. Well, last Friday I took the 12 hour trip to Sydney by bus with my cousin to take delivery of the beast.

Well to say the least, I am extremely happy. The car made the 900km trek down to Melboure with no hassles at all. We cruised at an average of about 130km/h all the way using about $100 worth of petrol.

Anyway, what I have done so far is :

*Waxed it twice (damn Venom! did you use a scourer to clean the car??)
*New centre console
*New roof lining
*Detailed the engine bay
*Changed the oil and spark plugs
*Replaced the gear knob

What I am doing very soon :

*Installing new 10 blade fan and clutch (old one's rooted)
*Getting the MPI conversion (Already have the parts)
*Changing the dashboard
*Upgrading the door trims to SII cloth ones
*Installing a new head unit
*Pod filter :s5
*Clear indicators

Today I picked up all the MPI stuff I need pretty much. Does anybody know if the CFI and MPI fuel pumps are the same?? The person I bought the stuff off said that he checked with a dealer service department manager and a friend who works at Ford and they both apparently said fuel pumps are the same.

The car cost $1k IIRC, which was pretty cheap for a 5 Speed EA back then. Had a few modifications (lowered with good shocks and springs).

I don't have any photos of when I bought it I don't think. Gill does though.

Funny as, I reckon we could do mpfi conversion blindfolded now.

Hi all,

I'm wondering what to do with my EB's audio setup. It's got the stock tape player & speakers (6" in the back, 4" in front doors), but it's only good for listening to the cricket.

I'm thinking of getting a decent head unit (around 4x50 watts), no amp, & I'm having a hard time choosing between 6" or 6x9 speakers for the parcel shelf. Should I have the shelf & carpet cut up to house 6x9s, or can I get good all-round sound out of some decent 6" speakers? I'm after a system where you can hear <some> bass in the car, but not 100m away! That's why I'm wondering whether really good 6" speakers would be acceptable for a quality, unbiased bass/treble sound.

Hmm... perhaps I should get around to ripping the (cough!) MASONITE board out of the XE's parcel shelf & replacing it with some black carpet. I think that the crappy speakers (2x6" + a $40 sub LOL!!!) don't do the parcel shelf any favors but the fact that the board is literally just sitting in place means it wants to do a <crappy> soundoff with the speakers!

I got a tranny cooler with my car when I bought it, and havent had any problems with heat...

The issue with my box is its a BTR85LE not the 95LE used in the EB's....

anyone know if my tranny's seperate computer will run the EB 4 speed if (when) my 4 speed kicks it? I know deep down i'll go manual, but I would still like to know my options

I wrote off my car last week and just wondering if anyone has any suggestions on what i should do with it. i am definately going to keep the engine (ef xr6) was thinking of maybe buying a new eb falcon or something and then putting this motor into the shell...heres some pictures

that was the good old eb... got it repaired. Was never the same though... diff kept dying for some reason, no it wasnt my driving. But yeh its up for sale now haha
i thought it went pretty well with stock internals... managed a 15.1 second pass at calder with a bit of wheelspin through 1st and 2nd, and got 132.8rwkw on the dyno at one ofthe cve days

dude for 25k i think people would rather buy a stock one for about 12-14k in same condition (minus extras) and then spend 10k or so putting aftermarket parts which will make it heaps better and more unique than factory fitted extras

Cheap Cosmetic Changes I am 15 and I had plans to buy an EA to do up. Unfortuantely I had no money for an EA, so i bought an XF Fairmont Ghia.

Here are the low budget cosmetic plans I had for the EA

*Remove windstrips (bodyside protection Mouldings)
*Color Code Mirrors
*Put on Interceptor Rims with Taxi Caps (15" EL)
*Tint front indicator lights and Rear indicator
*Big Stereo brand sticker on rear windscreen (sony, pioneer)
*Buy an SVO Front grille
*Lower

The 15" Interceptor Mags make the car look leaner and Lower and make the car look lower

ive replaced a lot of stuff though. new shocks/springs, plugs/leads/distributor/head/tyres/diff. recently new headlights/blinkers (old ones melted, see my headlight post).

* polk 6x9"s in parcel shelf
* response 12" carbon fibre sub in self made 60ltr 18mm MDF box, carpeted (fits behind gas tank in boot). ported.
* 2x jaycar 100Wx2 amps (see hot 4's for a review, these amps are cheap, have great sound, and pump it).
* sony pre-xplod single cd head (want one of the sony mp3 ones!)
* response 4" adjustable coaxials in the doors

Also..
* tint-a-car formula 1 tint
* nolathene bushes
* ef thermos
* alarm/central locking

and probably shitloads more that i cant remember.
