Favorites in V8 supercars

Postby edfamily » May 11th, 2008, 3:51 pm

Thought would be good to see who like who in the current v8 supercar series, i searched for a thread to do with this but never found anything.

Personally after ambrose left i had to find a new favorite driver and i could not go past lowndes.

ambrose was a awesome driver but a **** wit of a person.
winterbottom is pretty good , but lowndes seems to enjoy it the most hes the one out talking to people and always has a massive grin showing that he really loves what he does.

Lowndesy. Awesome driver . Best attitude, on telly and in person. Nat is just as nice, minus his huge smile. She comes to a lot of his meets and events.

He seems to pick up his game in the second half of the season, so I expect to see him climb the ladder after the next round.

Craig Lowndes seem to be a very nice person. Same sort of comments that most other people seem to be giving.

Ambrose was my favourite driver before he left for the U.S, now whincup and lowndes are my faves. I managed to meet craig at an autobarn promo and he is a very nice bloke. Oh, you can also include me in the I hate murphy/skaife club!

I've only met Lowndes, Skaife, Ingall, and Larry Perkins in person, but I'd have to say Lowndes is my favourite driver, ever since the HRT days. Driver attitude is important I reckon.

After doing work experience at Gibson Motorsport when Lowndes was with them, they all commented that Skaife, despite liking the odd sook, was a great bloke too, and they didn't have a bad word to say about him even though he had long left the team. Apparently he had still stayed in contact with them all even though he was over at HRT, and from all reports he was a genuinely nice guy...

Ingall was a really nice in person too, but Larry Perkins was a complete tosser. Arrogant prick from what I can remember. He wouldn't even sign my jumper even though Ingall was signing heaps and heaps right next to him, and Larry was just sitting there doing nothing. Ingall signed my jumper (just a casual jumper, not branded racewear) but he fucked it up because I was jumping around with excitement (I was young) He kindly offered me another shirt to replace it so he could sign that instead. I said no since I figured it was my fault, but I thanked him anyways =)

You can tell Perkins is a grumpy old prick by watching him on tv for 10 seconds. A mate of mine used to drive for him, and said he's worse behind closed doors, which doesn't suprise me at all. Plus he took all of Ingalls bikes away in case he hurt himself.

Peter Brock still races right?

ATM, Lowndesy/Frosty/Winterbottom would have to be my favourites. Courtney needs to pull his head in a bit. Ambrose did it in style, absolute champion!
Of the Holden guys, would probably be Todd Kelly or Lee Holdsworth.

I've only met Lowndsey and Nat, Rusty, Courtney, Seeto and both Stone brothers, and they all seemed like nice people. Saw Skaife around the corner of my work one day just standing there on the phone, so I didn't bother him. Don't like Tander much coz if he hadn't have dogged Lowndsey at the end of 06, Rick wouldn't have had the opportunity to catch up to or punt him off. Plus he had a big fkn sook at the end of last year about Lowndesy again. He looks like a decent guy off track though.

you should take Jason Richards off the top list as he is just as big a kiwi wanker as murphy, when i was working in kalgoorlie he and murph went to the Kalgoorlie Cup and they both snobbed people off till they got back to there sponsors tent. i dont know if you have met with him else where and he was differnet but i can only go on what i saw.
