i liked my AU2 XR8 ute when i had in 6 months ago, was a nice car to drive. Wasn't quick though.
They're a good nice car to drive, and built well. It's just the looks of AU's though. But Series2/3 XR's or Series 3 T Series are about the only good looking ones.

I'll probably keep my EL for a long time. No point on a car you spend so much money on, to flog it off for **** all.
Besides i've got the bike, and company van if i want it. Otherwise if i want a new car, I reckon i'l just park it in a shed somewhere and use it when i feel like it.

I have owned two E series. A NA fairlane and an EBII S pac.

If i had my time again i would still own the Fairlane. It was an amazing car.. Just the size of it and the luxury (and condition). I loved the shit out of it but it was dieing a slow painful death (speed up by me).

I love the AU the most so far, but its less exciting to drive just because everything works. In the NA and EB you never know what would happen. Everything checks out then all of a sudden you running hot with no water. Fill it back up and it has the same belly of water for another 6 months. Then at the worst times it would do it again. I used to have 4 2Ltr cordial bottles just for top ups haha.

The EB was rooted, but manual. So that made up for it!

With all the problems and contraversy of owning and older falcon, i would do it again in a heart beat. In the next few years i intend to either track down my old Fairlane, or find a v8 NC lane/LTD and just go ballistic on it and keep it for as long as i can.
NOW AU Fairmont - 2.5" zorst - dev4 - big stereo - T3 kit
SOON - to4e - 3" zorst - PWR front mount - stall + diff - lotta $ to be spent =(
