I'd put $50 on the table to say he had a puncture and didn't know, and kept driving until the tyre delaminated.

Tyre construction is a fine art, the physics a tyre undergoes when when spinning is amazing, the centrifugal forces happening just want it to tear itself to pieces.

Best, and most accurate, sentences in this thread. Ever seen a tyre mid-burnout in super slow motion, or the stress put on it when taking a 90degree corner at ANY speed? what sh*t is whacked i tells ya.

Done incorrectly, walls are dangerous. IE Doing them yourself like the case seems to be these days.

Moral of the story is, go to a proper joint to get them done and get a SAFE thickness for the tyre profile you have!

lol instant white walls did my mates clubby and it was still considered un road worthy

i have seen tyres for sale with colored walls in them, im guessing there road worthy as the tyre is manafactured with it?

What did they do to them? Just bung some paint on or grind the crap out of the sidewall?

Look at your car. Now back to mine. Now back to yours. Now back to mine. Sadly, yours isn't mine. But if you stopped buying dodgy cars and bought an ED, yours could be like mine. Look down. Back up. Where are you? ...You're on BoostedFalcon, reading the signature your signature could be like! Anything is possible when your car looks like my car... I'm on a computer.

they grind a "rebate" or "channel" you could call it on a machine,

its only 1 mm deep or so, less even about half inch wide, then they paint in the channel

With the amount of white walls/red walls getting around. if i was a tire manufacturer i'd be manufacturing tires with the white walls one them, can't defect them from the shop when they are unmodified.

They pretty much just smooth out the writing. the rest just gets scuffed so the paint sticks to it.
