BA IRS = cheaper and lighter - for Ford that's a win. Handling losses vs profit increase obviously wasn't worth keeping the AU setup. AU with IRS should handle the best; they are overall lighter than a BA (I think) better IRS and front end is the same.

The Y2k point intrigued me lol.. Thanks for the comments, we appreciate people recognizing the AU for what it can be. I think that if you do see a good AU it's worth looking twice as they can be a difficult car to make a head turner. Mainly the factory height, horrible stock interior, lights etc break balls but considering our age and money constraints its a decent effort :)

Me and XR6JET usually spend every weekend revamping the AUs and found the key points to increasing the personal value were:
- Leather interior conversion
- Go as low as possible..
- wheels
- colour scheme should be noted!

She's not a girl you'd straight away take home to mum but with a bit of work she scrubs up allright. If you can get past the factory cosmetic issues remember that the AU engine is well..The AU Engine bulletproof really, solid diff, most reliable car i've known..

Whatever, haters gunna hate. All I say is that apart from an FG, the AU interior is the most comfortable of any Falcon I have owned, and I have owned one of each series from X to A and my housemate has a B. The mid to high series AUII/III interior is my favourite still, and mine have even converted a few Ford haters into believers. They are effortless on a nice long trip. This is the main reason why I opted to keep my current AU and throw cash at it instead of “upgrading” to a B series.

I lol'd.

I don't mind the au xr series 2/3, series 1 xr the front bar looks like aids.
The falcon/fairmont/pointy light front/whatever you want to call it looks retarded. Doesn't get any better with age in my opinion!
Interiors are ok, my s2 xr8 interior was awesome. I loved it! Would like to get my hands on some of those seats for my eb.
They handle awesome too.

I've been in sequential, and outside it when he smoked the Shit out of it. Was a tuff car in its day, sounded mad at idle.

Wasn't it bob romano built.

I thought it was autotek. I don't remember though

EDIT: it was built by tickford and was a prototype rather than a concept. Apparently there were a bunch of them which makes me wonder how close it was to production before being canned. Would have been cool to have sequential manuals alongside ESS auto in T-series
Is now owned by "roman autotek" but doesn't have the sequential box anymore.

Well done elitexr, you've fixed the AU shape. That is the best looking AU sedan I've seen (although not a fan of the gold rocker cover).

In my opinion it looks as good as or better than any BA out there.

I was half right ha ha. When I saw it, it (must of been early 2000 sometime) didn't have the sequential in it then either. And was owned by a mate in Sydney.
