4L's are just stubbon.

Bolting boost onto a stock engine and having fun...

"What have you done to the engine?"

"Just stock with a turbo"

My Ed fairmont. $600 on duel fuel. Most comfy car I've ever owned. And it drove the 3 hour trip home and only needed about $60 of parts for the rwc.

And they make power so good when boosted. Axeman's el, 353rwkw and only a measly 12psi of boost to get it there.

Jake has chopped springs......

Never boosted an Eseries but for what they are worth and the price to get them to a respectable condition is impressive. Alot of car for the $$ and does everything a Ba/f does.
Saying that Ba/f is rapidly taking over. I think AU's will be the XA-XC of their time which is a pity because they are a great car.

The AU was the best car mechanically Ford has made (until in my opinion) the FG.
I don't think the AU will be the new Eseries. BA will.
Thats what I'm getting at.
Even I can remember when XA-C we're the ugly duckling and were worth $300 for a going car, there's nothing wrong with them, just not desired until recently.

Yeah, or they don't actually notice the car is turbo until you go past them on the gate and the limiter with a quarter turn of lock :D

What keeps bringing me back is the cheapness of everything about an E series, for a $300 stocker mine took 8 months with little money to get where it is now, and to turbo them makes it more fun, although I don't think I'll ever have a turbo E series its the thought that counts :P hahaha

i have never owned an e series before, but after driving heaps of different cars in the past couple of months while my xe's been off the road i can say i prefer the old shitter that doesnt handle as good and will light the rear wheels up and spin if your not carefull.. front wheel drive and traction control are just boring to drive because you can take corners way to quick and still get no rush out of it

Love the shape, awesome quality interior (no clips and bullshit chromed plastic) , easy to fix, unique when mint.

My Holden loving mates always say my car looks pretty nice for a ford and everyone who gets in it says it feels comfortable and quite and seems like the sort of car you can just cruise in.

In our family we have a bf mkII Ghia, and a ba gtp and I honestly enjoy driving my car more than any of them.
TUFED6 wrote:<3 when people get a different "superior" car and look down there nose on those poor cunce with E-series like they're better than them.

Unless you got a Bentley or something your still the same shitcunt with a different pile of crap. Fact that they even still browse these forums says it all.

Couldn't agree more.

I've been stranded afew times but I've found carrying tools around helps a lot hahaha, also random bits and pieces from previous e series helps too haha

It's been good reading peoples opinions and I have decided that I will return to e-series, in some way there is a little unfinished business for me. I look forward to my next purchase and will see the QLD's out on the next cruise this Sunday.

Not sure yet, I am definitely setting a good budget aside and making sure the car spends as little time as possible off the road as that is a major killer on builds.

Yeah Todd I have been away for a while now having experienced different cars, there's just something about an e-series with a huffer on it which makes me excited, I love the look, the prices on repair bills and cost of modifications.

So the WRX is up for sale on carsales. Cross fingers for quick and easy sale.

Probably EF-EL due to more modern interior and exterior styling and I believe parts are more accessible.

Nicer wiring harness and better intercooler mounting would help too.
