Must be just my driving style then. Pushrod V8's (windsor) die once over 4,500rpm but at least up to this point its flying. The MPS is dead below 3,000rpm a bit like a BOSS.
The T3 and their elephant man body kits don't do anything for me, and when you see the internals of my engine $$$$$ you'll see why :D. It will be more powerful or at least par with a stroker and without no edit!!!! The resiprocating mass Rods/pistons are 100g lighter then the standard issue just to give you an idea. Block and crank are the only stock (weak) components.

Yeah, they're kinda the same. But the 3 MPS' are a bit quicker, cause they have about 30kw more.
They're the quickest out of the other turbo mid sized cars, like the focus, astra, VW's, etc.
AFAIK, i thought the 3 MPS was into the 14's for the quarter, and mid 14's, like a 14.6 or something.

I would say the Windsors are moving along ok, i wouldn't exactly say they're flying up to 4,500rpm.
So your motor should be good for a 14 flat quarter then? so the same power as the stroker? The strokers don't really have an edit, its called a factory tune!
IMO the only T- Series i'd even consider would be a Series 3, but thats just cause i dont like the looks or power of the Series 1's and 2's.
Series 3 - Tough looking car with a stroker, all factory built. Best thing Tickford ever did.

look their alright when their on boost but you've got to keep on stirring the pot so to speak. I love to gun the gearchanges (14.3 in my TE50), thats when you realise what a handicap this drive by wire is. Last time I ran the 400m I hit reverse instead of 4th at about 140kmh, lucky not to have spat the gearbox out. I've actually reused those gears when I rebuilt it, can you blame me at around $150 a cog!!!

under bonnet shots of a FG XR6T...
completely different intake manifold
and a untidy cooler pipe on the exhaust side.

Interesting. I'd like to see a shot of that manifold on it's own, see if the runners are all the same volume.

Just came back from the motor show and again very disappointed by the ford stand. The W427 HSV isn't that bad in the flesh and at the end of the day who cares when you've got a competent chassis, 7.0L V8 and brakes off a supercar!!!

The ford is a turd wrapped in gold wrapping paper. Gone is the solid door feel of the AU-BA (supposedly stronger), Gone is the erogonomic dash of the BA, Alloy front wishbones and stub axles but woopedy doo when the thing weighs in at an extra 10-50kg more then previous model :?: .
The engines are crammed as ever, Instead of simplifying the induction on the turbo by having the airbox in place of the battery the ducting still has to jump the motor?????? The BOSS V8 now requires a grinder to be extracted from its resting place. Last but not least the cars have lost their presence which FALCON has always been renowned for.

Are the doors less solid, or do they have a more fluid striker/catch action and softer door rubbers? And can you really accurately guage ergonomics of a vehicle's dash without first driving it?

the doors are actually better, they are a lot softer when closing.. then again that could be purely coz its a brand new car sitting there, but updated door seals and rubbers are a massive improvement over the BA - BF, should reduce road noise a bit better too
