6.0 needs an exhaust, extractors, edit and CAI for 300rwkw. They have bigger heads than a 351C 4V.

A couple of places have made some special tools that pull the lifters off the Gen3/4 camshaft without having to remove the heads, so it's only a few hour job these days.

I might be biased, but Windsors are still better :P
Pitty it'd cost 10k plus to build a decent one :(

gees, thats alright! 300rwkw is too much for me anyway! what would i be looking at with just a cat back, injectors and a tune? anything over 200rwkw would be more than enough for me. What do they drive like compared to a falcon though? Hows the 6 speed manual, just the same?

It's not that hard to get power out of the Boss but there's just something fucked about getting them to launch. A mate of mine has a 5-speed BA XR8 with full exhaust, CAI, 3.7s, and a tune making 250~ rwkW. The best it could muster was a 13.8. I reckon the equivalent BA-t could do < 13.5 easssy.

it was posted on the street commodores forum also.

these days engine conversions are more and more common, i can understand how some ppl are more attracted to one brand than another, but it should'nt discount the thoughts/fantasies of engine conversions...

hell im putting a 2jz in a commodore, i did have an RB30 to put in it but i changed my mind. and im sure when XR6t engine become more affordable, they will pop up in a few commodores, as there has already been talk of ppl wanting to do a conversion ;)

LS1 for the win, after crusing around in sphell's new stato i've become a massive fan, nothing but a catback exhaust and it felt fair decent for a car so heavy, with mods it'd be decent as.

well I am convinced! I think I might go for a few test drives in some commos this weekend then. My dreams of a BA MkII Turbo have been shattered at the fact that I wont be able to sell my AU for more than 50 cents. :(
So I was looking at another AU, but a 220kW XR8, but I think I will start looking at VX Series 2 SS's now! If they are as good as you guys recon, for the money, it should work out, so long as they drive ok.

I suppose it depends on whether you care more about the car you drive or the number on the dyno sheet.

Its the number in my wallet that I am worried about mostly! I want something that is quick and comfortable, but on top of all it needs to be able to take some punishment! The car I still really want is a BA MkII XR6 Turbo, but its looking like i will only have $20k max to spend on a car, and they are worth more than that. The 6 speed manual looks like a much stronger box, so that is why I started looking at a commo. For the money I am looking to spend, it seems like the logical choice.
