Lower the VY LS1 Tonner and get dicked for having non-light truck tyres on it when you swap the steelies for 18s. And discover that your 1-ton payload has been reduced to 400kgs due to lowering it & fvcking with the one-tonne suspension.

Best plan ever. Well, 2nd to getting a base model XH for $10,000

1. Buy VY LS1 Tonner
2. Do skidz
3. ????
4. Profit $$$

Trust me, I'm a consultant to accountants and also jesus.

For 10K i will cut the back of my XR6 off and u can have it!! Shit!!!
Extractors will set u back about $500...high flow cat...another couple hundred....lowered springs AND shocks........dude just buy a nice XR 6.
They dont cost the world to insure. My XR6 cost me just under $1000 a year, and it a 5 speed, with rims, lowered, exhaust etc...

Well considering your happy paying $10,000 for it, I'd say $3000 is fair for lowering and exhaust.

What the **** dude?

Everyone in this thread so far has protested against you buying that overpriced arserape from your boss. All E series cars are sub 10k apart from the EB/EL GTs and you want to spend it on a bog stock XH UTE?

Wake up to yourself, the boss wants to lock you in....buy yourself a VERY decent E series sedan for 2-3k, put it on gas and use that for work. I gaurrantee that it will be more cost effective and you get the added bonus of 4 seats and a suspension setup that doesn't date back to 1972 instead of a trayback that you most probably won't use 95% of the time.

But thats $500! He isn't made of money. Trailers cease to work after 10,000km, like E-Series stop after 120,000km.

It'll go something like that.

Stop using common sense, this thread clearly isn't the place for it :?

i still havent seen a response to the fact he wants a 1toner yet wants to lower it. hence making the 1 tonne package useless

I've seen plenty, have another look :P

Can anyone confirm the 1-tonne suspension won't work with lowering? If he uses lowering blocks, the U-bolts will need to be pretty strong, and if the leaves get reset they will be rock hard. Also do XH 1 tonners have the brake bias adjuster for load carrying, or is that an AU thing?

Stuff it.

The prestine example of a XH Longreach ute you have found with 100,000 will with no-doubt increase in value as genuine FORD collectors will see the disguised performance beast that it is. The XH is the equivilant of the Ford GTs of the late 60's/ 70's and is a seriously good investment. I advise you to buy it for $10,000 from your place of work and eventually reep the profits of this extremely rare and highly collectable hybird E-Series/ X-Series Ford with a unique 4.0 Inline Six engine, Bog Warner 4 Speed Automatic, Leaf spring rear-end and special raised suspension for driving in hard to reach places in the Urban environment (such as the McDonald's drive through). Disreguard previous advice from 99.99% of the members on this forum (who think that the limited edition ED Xr8 Sprint is worth more than a Automatic XH Longreach.... ) and just buy it with borrowed money which will make the $10,000 ute into a $15,000 ute, therefore increasing the value EVEN MORE.

Simple economics my hooker-ed friend.
