Frost- Lower fuel prices are a direct result from the financial crisis. Lower demand= lower price.
I'll admit that many people were worse off under Howard's later years but that was because of the growth bubble Australia/ Asia/ China was in until recently (think late 07) and the higher demand for shit. Now with everything gone to the shithouse in America all the demand has died in the ass and bought everything down (which means people with jobs being better off) but people losing their jobs are royally fucked like the labour segment of manufacturers.
Funny how all the "free world" or countries dependant on "free world" consumption requires the United States to have a functioning economy and if they (america) **** up economically all the world follows suit. Imagine if this crisis originated in Britain, I don't think it would be as big as it is now.
