Nah I was alright. Nothing broken. My organs got hammered though. There was blood for the first week when going to the toilet. :(

I hit the ground and I thought my body missed the car then bam. It knocked the wind out of me really badly and I was crawling around on my hands and knees for a while thinking I was gonna die. Then I got my breath back and felt fine.

Someone called an ambulance so I had to go to the hospital and they did all kinds of tests to make sure nothing was broken and nothing else was smashed up inside. My resting heart rate was 130 bpm so they thought I had internal bleeding. They kept me there from 8am til about 1130 that night under observation but since I didnt die they sent me home.

Apparently Ive got a tuff spine. They all said I shouldnt be walking anymore.

For the first few weeks I would wake up in massive pain and had to lie in bed and not move until the pain killers kicked in. I needed painkillers for the first 2 months but it slowly got better. I think the pain stopped around 6 months later.

All the muscles in my back, shoulders, chest and sides were hurt and my lungs copped a caining. If I coughed, sneezed or twisted it was really bad. It still hurts sometimes if I twist my body to look behind me and my neck has started cracking like when you crack your knuckles but other than that no permanent damage.

Buy a lotto ticket?...you're 1 lucky s.o.b.

2 years ago I witnessed a guy lose his life on a bike from a pretty minor error on his behalf....made 1 hell of a mess.

You still ride?

I just ride on the dirt now.

I only really commuted on the road bike. I wasnt interested in going on weekend rides or trackdays so I havent bothered getting another one. I wouldnt commute again. The time saved getting to work isnt that much and its a fair bit more expensive to ride too with insurance and servicing costing so much.

The stories from the tow truck company that took the bike away didnt help either :S

They said the majority of times they pick up a bike there is blood and guts spread out everywhere and the rider is likely dead.

heres my effort (no where near as bad as some of you guys tho):

was doing 50 in a 50 zone through main st samford brisbane. i wasnt concentrating at all and before i knew it, bam!. had about 1 second to react so i slammed the brakes and yanked the steering wheel left, collecting a 2007 model holden statesman (with a towbar ) then careered into the gutter, mounted a hedge and narrowloy missed an iron fence. because i was doing under 60km/h the abs never kicked in, even one of the cops at the scene said if i were speeding i probably could have avoided the incident...aint that a bitch!!!
(my description sounds like i was doing way over 50km/h an hour but all these objects were close together)

apologies for going crazy with the photos

well this is my old ef,my son bought it from me and got run into by a truck running a red light.
Irony is I built the truck that hit him.
So 70kmh area B double cuts A red light,3hrs to cut him from the car.(EMERGENCY SERVICES AND RESCUE ARE FUCKING AWESOME PEOPLE!!!!)
He came out of it with a broken femur.
Have never in all my years seen a camshaft embedded into the head and only a 3rd of the engine size left due to the truck compressing it!
If anyone knows how to put these images up instead of the link,I am not very techy with computers :)

Looks like an optional AU Ghia/LTD woodgrain Momo.

Don't they only have a strip of wood visible from inside the car though?

Here's a couple pics of my XE after my mate rolled it driving to Bathurst in 2000, just out of Rankin Springs, we hit the 160km marker to Hay, so it's easy to remember. I was in the back dying with the flu at the time.

Being in a crash is weird. I remember getting sideways, looking out the window and thinking "shit this is gonna hurt, don't die", then I couldn't open the door while I was upside-down, so I punched the window out, then punched the front window in to get a mate out. It took 3 hours for the pain to kick in. What's stupid is I was wearing steel-caps at the time.

[Edit} - I got a $61 fine for crossing a double white centre line. And a $780 towing bill.
