Are they just ticking on start up for a few seconds or do they tick when the car is warmed up? You could try a product by Nulon called Lifter Free or something like that, seems to work okay. Sometimes new oil can fix the lifter noise as ive found on some occassions, other times the lifters are just rooted and need to be replaced lol

run nulon E10 or some shit... engine reconditioner in a bottle.... make sure its got PTFE in it (in the list of ingredients etc)

of course check oil level first.... engines will tick when oil level is down.. it might not be dripping oil on the ground it could be burning it (both pretty normal for e series)
