Fukkin Smithy and the Herald Sun Cars Guide

Any of you guys read the rubbish in "Ask Smithy" in the Herald Sun Cars Guide over the last 3 or 4 weeks? They are publishing and shtload of crap about balljoint and brake hose concerns on the BA-BF/SX-SY Falcons/Territorys. Every week there is more and more bashing.

On the 1st page today though there's a quick article about the Territory and how good it is. I don't know whether it's a sarcastic joke or a serious article actually commending the Terry on it's merits.

Angryyy.

They've probably got an inbox full of emails from Ford fans. Bit suss innit - last 3-4 months they've been Falcon/Tezza-bashing, this week, an article singing the praises of an recently superseded Ford model with no news content as such, just the editor's opinion.

A suspiciously sudden about-face...

Paul gover is just as bad. Writes a review on the new skyline gtr saying just how much he hates the car. Then the very next week writes a comment on how it's an awesome sports car

the whole publication is a joke

Best part of carsguide is the events calendar.. helps me keep track of stuff I wanna see.

Ask Smithy was good for info on faults with makes and models, but lately they've been using it as part of the crusade against Ford.

Having said that, they did run heaps of complaints about Alloytec engined Commos, prior to VE - Holden didn't bother to alter the redline on the tacho, and there was some drama about trip meters.

So im not the only one who hates this douche. The saga with the Shockwave paint was shit aswell, he thought Ford wernt doing enough, we keep on getting the fuckers at work, full resprays under warranty. Smithy also said "how can you be sure the new paint won't lift again?". Asshat.

I haven't read it for months, I see that brake hose thing is still going. I can't comment on the validity of their concerns but enough is enough.

I remember them going on about some fuel gauge issue with Holdens too. Concerned owners would be much better off consulting enthusiast forums.

You have to take the media for what it is- an amusing work of fiction with occasional elements of truth.

Ive been meaning to write in about it, but just CBF. How fucken stupid are some people, honestly?

After that many questions about them, some people still write in asking if there BA is affected. How about go to Ford and find out, how hard is it?

Its like there the only car with issues.

there was for the statesman range because of a fuel line issue that could lite up at any time, i remember that because a few HSV's had the issue too and got roasted.

though you dont hear of that much do you? i'd say that it would have been just as dangerous if not worse.

I remember the fuel line issues. It's a bit shit really when I think that the police nit pick exposed pod filters and atmo blow off valves when a new car could have a fuel line rub through and spray fuel everywhere causing it to catch fire.
