Shaun the police didn't shut this down. It was the residents who live near there. Funny thing is I'm pretty sure they knew wtf that track was when they decided to live there.
How I see it is, the V8's, easternats, driver dynamic drive days would bring in 11ty billion times more coin that those complaining assholes who live close by could ever bring in their entire lifetime.

It's a shame that they shut it down and you're all right, it will just create a hell of a lot more work on the boys in blue which in turn creates more hate for them for just doing their job.

Give the residents ear plugs and tell them to harden the fu(k up. This is Australia, and they know when it comes to Easter that this stuff happens, book a holiday and piss off somewhere else if you don't like it!!

I hear there's a protest on Princes Hwy this Friday at 11PM. Starting at and around the Sandown Pub then cruising up and down the highway. Tell your mates, and tell them to tell their mates. Maybe SMS it too - just to make sure.

yeah same as calder except calder didnt close down due to it.
but alot of people complained about the race track an wanted it shut down.
seriously check where u buy before moving then u wont have a problem.

build our own track and hold our own easternats?

A peaceful protest could be organized.

Something like notify local authorities and council (which you have to do anyway legally)

Block east and west bound lanes on the princess each set of traffic lights, do it at peak hour (police will legally help) lol. Dont do anything in the cars just leave them parked.

Set a time for the protest 8am till 9am etc, get the media, council and local residents attention. And if anyone does a hoon activity, have the police ping them and reassure the media that's what your trying to get off the street.

Well Jon davidson has actually been talking to other places in past
2 years he had similar problems with the racing club and residents and was looking at alternative. However they allowed it to go ahead
If i remember at the time he had spoken to phillip island about it. ( something that id highly doubt would happen)

Easternats has been in the papers with complaints for atleast 6 years so there is always somethng happening because of it

Springnats at shep - Looks like it will be moving from deca to somewhere else in shep.
Autofests - SA Mt Gambier ( first year oin this year) oct 31st - 1st nov
- MUrray Bridge 23-24 of jan
- nsw/vic COrowa 27th 28th of feb

Performance car Nationals - winton ? dont know whats happening with it
Powercruise -unsure of events
QLD and NSw

WA has various events too

Springnats is moving from DECA to the shep showgrounds.

Need more events like powercruise

camping + long weekend + track = great

I am serious actually mate. I know quite a few cops and MOST of them are all for the easternats, and why wouldn't they? It's an outlet for the drivers to let loose. Now that it's been banned it's up to the police to sweep up the mess it will create for them.

Believe it or not, the cops aren't all bad.

the venue pulled out of hosting it, would be almost 100% pressure from the council.
unless the police press charges against the venue operator, how could they possibly be influencing the decision?

Easternats is simply an easy target, no big backing like most Racing events.

I would be fukn gutted if i lived nearby Sandown and wasn't a street car enthusiast... The amount of smoke that carries across the highway or to the neighbouring houses would be annoying. Especially if you puchased your home before the events' beginnings.

I've had some great times at Easternats, and hopefully things like the Performance Car Nats take off. Looking forward to that. Camping, cruising, should be great. Phillip Island would be even better.

Well powercruise did events in Tas and NT this year i hope they have one down here next year .
