Working nightshift means alot of Ebay trawling, and it got me thinking.
If you had the space/money/time, what would your dream project car be?
Doesn't have to be crazy, in fact realistic is better
For me, my old man has an Austin Healey Sprite, and I think an SR20DET would do nicely.
It's like an 800-900kg car, so 200rwkw would be enough.
They've got a suprising amount of aftermarket support, being basically an MG Midget, and the yanks love them.
Would be a bit of fun
What about everyone else?

I'd love to put a 4L+T5+Borg Warner (with LOKKA) into a Toyota Starlet. Obviously you'd have a hard time getting it engineered and registered but even if it was strictly a skid car, the driveline would not need many mods to pull big 4th gear burnouts in a starlet.
Reality is I'll never do it! I'm having enough trouble getting an ED finnished which doesn't require spastic amounts of engineering.

My dream car isn't an e-series either (although my second one is) and it's an XB coupe.
I have already started to peice together the bits for the dream car, so one day I will have it.

Mine would have to be a 1969 Fast back Mustang with a nice 460 or a 428 ford cobra jet engine under the bonnet in blueprint or a black pearl riding on 19s or 12s custom dash and interior to modern it up a little.

Something with heaps of grunt, handles like a gokart and looks awesome.
Wonder how much I could get an old 911 for and convert it to turbo?

Haven't really thought about it - I guess first step would be to have an amount of money exceeding common sense -
Somthing very light with lots of power lol-
A Mini with a 20B TT doing wheel stands would be awesome -
Also somthing ridiculously quick from Factory would be nice - Check out the new Lambo Revention - Not sure if thats exactly the name but its somthing like that

Can't decide.
FORD:
Newish:
BA-BF ex-cab with a respray, XR6T running gear, decent interior. Budget sleeper.
Post-Classic:
EA-ED wagon. 2 door conversion (windowless sides), "delivery van" style. Try to make rear interior look as factory as possible. Boosted 4.0 + single laker pipe, or 5.0/5.8 (boosted or n/a) with twin lakers. Tubbed rear for >300 profile rubber.
Classic:
An XM or XT with a 4.0/T5 conversion would be mad. Sleeper-spec.
HOLDEN:
LH-LX Torana with 350 or LS1, or an FJ with a hot grey.
MISC:
Beetle with kombi running gear, or a 70s Celica with 90s Supra running gear, or a Datsun 240K with R31 running gear, or an R31 coupe, black, with the most over-the-top 80s bodykit ever.

Ultimate dream car: Capri GT, keep the v6 and boost it. I have no idea if that would be possible or functional (I've never looked in to it) but it would be fappin awesome though.
Secondary and more realistic: Rebuild the AIT from the ground up to mint condition, with some modifications for go fast bits but I would keep the original gear for sure.
BTW: Simmo, I'd totally have a Ariel Atom if financially possible. I'm actually on the Australian distributors e-mailing list.

Not that I think it will ever come to anything, it's nice to dream.

Im with Sunny, mint SVO, Brock, AIT or EB/EL GT's would be high on my list or an E-Series pano.
The car i used to own was to be my project and I wish I never sold it. Mk2 Escort Pano, had RS2000 motor and gearbox, white vinyl interior and plans for an SR20DET + Simmons

-AIT EA S-Pack for sure, i'd only do mads that can be reversed easily.
-EL XR6 (what I got now is close enough

) respray, big wheels, some go fast bits
-Canary Yellow BT1 again, i'd only do mods that can be reversed.
They'll all happen one day!

Very possible man, and very very quick!
My dream project would have to be a late fox body 'stang with either a full house single turbo 331 stroker or a twin turbo 500+ cuber, C6 auto and 9"
or just go nuts on a Volvo 850R, late model all wheel drive conversion, 6 speed manual, GT42 and bombed B5234R engine.

XB coupe with a stroked Clevo. Nothing fantastic, low 12's would make me happy.
MG-B with a worked Rover 3.5 V8. I have no idea why, I just reckon it's a cool idea.
De Lorean DMC12. I've watched Back to the Future a few too many times.
Some sort of crazy sleeper. Grandpa spec mint XW/XY/XA with a turbo 4.0 would be awesome I reckon.

Yep, that's got my vote too!
Are we talking powered-by-Libyan-plutonium + road spec, powered-by-Mr Fusion + flying spec, or getting shunted by a train while rolling on 80s rims? 1880s rims that is...
Wish my EB left twin sets of flames on the road when ripping skids

Also, sadly, I always think of BTTF when driving in a 70 zone (the speedo reads 88)

Tubbed and blown 383 XY in Midnight Blue with a lighter blue metalflake. Cruiser.
Grandpa spec EA with a modded XR6T engine. Streeter plus if I crash it EA's are cheap.
Rusty XD with a twin turbo 393 tubbed. Sleeperish drag/burnout car.

That would rock, I'll take two.
In addition to the above, you'd of course have all carbon fibre panels and custom front suspension with quikrack - 2 turns lock to lock and 50*+ max lock

My dream car is something like this:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9IOpuGVo ... ed&search=6 speed twin turbo viper that does 8.7s and they drive it on the street

I give no fark for LS1s haha.
Or maybe a Veryron with more boost and semi-slicks

Resto on an XC Cobra...Dnno what it is....they're just so fuckin hot!
But dreaming....theres a Viper SRT-10, Lambo Mercielago and Diablo. Just the top three of about 20 "im a billionaire" cars.
Oh, and that brocky VL on ebay....the 1 with only 39 km's on it. And rip a MASSIVE skid in front of him till the tyres/radiator blows - that thing'd proly fall apart if ya nailed it straight off....

Mine would be a 92-93 Fox mustang hatch back, full black int, t56, hot 302-331, 16" convo pro's, out side would be either straight black or red with white stripes, also would have a 3" cowl bonnet with a cobra body kit.
