hey guys, chasing a part for my car and need one today.

its called a resonator for some reason, stops backfiring apparently on gas and intake noise.

its a little plastic horse shoe shaped plastic tube that goes on the strut tower.

does anyone know any good wreckers that may have one? or even a member on here that has one?

ive tried the following places

- jolly rogers
- pick a part
- the ford wreckers in kilsyth
- FTG auto salvage

ford themselves sell them, but takes 48hours to get one and the cost is stupid for a plastic tube its $110 incl gst

shouldn't have any effect on backfiring.
essentially only there for reduced intake noise.

yeh mate its a useless dogturd bit of plastic pipe. will do nothing for you.

i have a gas problem, back fires every now and then its a purnell gas system thats only 9 months old.

blokes on th eford forum reckons the backfiring is because that pipe is missing, ive blocked it up when i first got the car cos it was blocked up pretty shotty.

It has nothing to dop with that tube!!

My 5L donor car doesnt backfire, it doesnt have it.

none of my cars have ever had that stupid dogturd.
2 of them being on gas.

yeah my eb v8 doesnt have it and doesnt backfire on gas.

dynomotive bayswater are hopless.

there answer was that the mixer and converter were stuffed, but the system is a purnell system and only 9months old.
from what i have looked up on the net, those systems have a great name, but dynomotive told me they are crap.

i know that dynomotive are a LPGAS1 dealer, and they were trying to sell me the lpgas1 gear which was like $1200.. im not spending that on it, id rather rip out the gas sytem than do that and run it on petrol, would still be cheaper.

might get you to look at next week or the week after cve, ill get in touch when i know ive got a day off work and book it in.

they also said my leads were stuffed and had a very high resistance, but they were changed last week cos the car was running like dogs balls, it fixed the running on petrol problem, but still has problems on gas not as bad as before though.

petrol runs perfect, but on gas cruising along it will run fine, but as soon as you stop and idle and go to take off it feels like its struggling to get power and kind of jurks, and atleast once every drive it backfires and then feels like its running in limp mode so i have to run it on petrol all the time.

i find it hard to belive a gas system would do that after being 9months old, and just being dynotuned to run it and petrol.

hopefully your magic hands can fix it bro lol

yer im not fussed on how long it takes but ill give ya a call and get your quickest booking to get it sorted, i bought the car as a daily but ive just been given a company car so it wont be driven much anymore, probably going to use it a tow car which means ill probably be running it a petrol most of the time anyway but id like to have the car running perfect in every way.

whats one of those famous memcals you do worth anyway roughly?

Are you sure the gas problem isnt as simple as a vac leak or something?

What new leads did you put on? Some are shit even when new and play up on gas.

Yeah. I'd be checking all the LPG hoses, sounds like a balance line issue to me. Probably came off in the 1st backfire from the bodgy leads.

Haha, even the Barbie car came home Boosted.

Also check the airbox is sealing, I notice when I dont stick the airbox lid back on properly it wouldnt run proper on gas.
