Crane HI-6

Postby eb pete » August 4th, 2009, 4:29 pm

Is anyone on here currently using a Crane HI-6 and LX92 coil? I bought 1 the other day, hooked it up today and everything seems to be working fine but I can here it clicking. The noise is matching the revs, but I'm not sure if it's supposed to be that loud. Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks
Pete J

Mines in the engine bay, it'll only make a beep when you turn the ignition on, otherwise you can't hear it.

Actually, come to think of it, I also had an EL a while back with it mounted in the front bumper, and I remember that never made any undue noises.

when i say loud as ****, you wouldn't hear it over a running engine looking in the engine bay, but it is definately audible in the interior.

It's a clicking noise like a relay switching on transistor. Can't do anything about it at the moment as Crane are shut down for a bit. Did you guys use a cap when you lengthend the main power cable?

yeah it sounds similar to the noise mine made, i think.
hard to explain.
it appeared to only happen when it was multisparking from memory, been awhile since the car was driving hahaha
nah i didn't use a cap in the power cable, maybe i should have LOL did you?
i'm using a PS92 coil too...

is yours new?
mine was second hand...

eb pete, talk to australian cranecams maybe?
they are a completely seperate entity...
i don't have my car atm or i'd look into it more.
