Ok, just got mod/chip. I was cautious of using this with gas so I ask whether it will work on gas as there is no mention of it in the advert, just that it will not work on diesel.

The first reply was
"It will work on any petrol car with fuel injection, although it won't work with gas unfortunately"
Thats the reply I got.

So I ask again if themod/chip was installed whether car would still work on gas and when I would switch to petrol my fun would start! But NOOOO they then informed me this AFTER I ASK!

"It is dangerous for the engine while using gas and it could damage your engine almost immediately. In petrol mode it will be fine though. It will still fit your car but I would advise you not to use it while on the gas mode!"

Pretty pissed of with them after that  so told them to say that on advert!

This is a first for me with mods and gas but maybe most of you guys already knew this and now I know but still thats pretty bad in my books!

He's not up to speed with the gas systems fitted to Falcons, hes thinking off what they fit to 4cyl vehicles in the UK.
Hes a good bloke, I went to school with him when I lived in London, but yeah not the brightest spark when it comes to mechanics.

What you need is a second one, the alteration in the resistance values the ECU reads by having a 2nd unit will make up for the LPG burn cycle differential.

Basic Chemistry. EFFalcon can second me on the chemistry stuff

Oke doke, so MARTYR is yours straight gas or duel? If duel do you have two or works well with the one?

Thanks for input, not sure with the schematics of these things but like to try it out!

Mine is dual fuel at the moment with a similar chip and works fine.. I was considering single fuelling my car eventually.
My uncle has a single fuel F6 very similar to yours STEADY and he has had a few dramas with it actually. It overboosts huge resulting in 5th gear wheelspin. Thats all cool but it damaged the quadrant capacitor in the MAP and needs a new cache valve :(

New cache valves are damn pricey from ford. Hopefully they start making aftermarket ones soon.

So are you going to buy a 2nd one? Don't forget to do a back-to-back dyno comparison!

Fark I forgot about the quadrant capacitor! It's inside your ECU, the dual mod-chip setup should bypass the quadrant capacitor thanks to the voltage drop caused by the ohm disturbance. Actually, you may need a third mod chip, unless you can find some way of cycling between one mod chip and two.

Why do I say this?

Because obviously the mod chip is designed to work with a petrol engine, and I've stated above how it works with a dual fuel system. So you need one for petrol and two for gas to counterract the burn cycle differential. The simple way would be having 3 mod chips, one for the petrol tune, and two for the gas tune, both independently wired. Your other option is having just two of these chips, with a bridging circuit switching between a single chip working in series (for petrol), and both chips working in parallel (for gas).

Remember that gas has a different RON to petrol.

I hope what I've said helps.

Perhaps resettting the computer can sort out the quadrant capacitor

from memory the reset procedure is as follows

key in ignition and dash lights on but dont start the car, push the aircon button 23 times followed by the boot release 7 times pause for 5 seconds then 11 more, then the rear demister button must be pressed 7 times for 3 seconds each time then 1 last press quickly, if all goes well then horn will sound 3 times in quick succession and the interior light will flicker

if you have follewed these instructions to a t then your quadrant capacitor should be reset and bypassed allowing the mod chip to work at its optimum
