AJR's seem to buckle easily. I know a few people that have had to get them repaired when they run over potholes etc.

				hey John.
sucks about your wheel. is the inner damaged or just hte outer?
i have an AJR at advanced right now, they just called me. i posted in stevo's thread (
viewtopic.php?f=19&t=154&p=20413#p20413) about anodized vs polished finishes, i didnt realise they were anodized outers. they reckon they can only strip the anodizing off on the outer rim, then polish it, leaving the anodized finish around the nuts. they reckon there will be a small line where the two meet. itll still cost me $150.
bloody wheels, waste of money when i want to go faster. between this and valve springs im starting to get sick of my car atm.

its fairly common with AJR's, they're a soft outer.
I've contacted one company about getting it repaired and they seem to think its a bit much.
Advanced seem to be one of the best places for wheel repairs too.

Oi Kev,
What shoes did your Simmons have on them (if you can remember)? I'm keen on sedan-spec 265s or wider (up to 295s, I've only got 16x9s), and although I've found a couple of tyres from the US, the Aussie suppliers I've contacted (namely M/T and Hankook) have said no to shipping them over.

Ps insincere apologies to Wilson for using the thread for my own personal advantage.

John, that's easily fixed. I had two buckled and they were both "easily fixed" according to the guys at Wheels in Ballarat. They re-rolled the outers, and re-polished them (what's this anodized shit I'm hearing? Mine aren't

). In total I think it came to $350, but they completely disassembled one wheel because the rim was cracked (picked up on X-rays of the wheel) and replaced it with a spare rim I had. The wheels won't be 100% true, and I can notice it the tiniest amount, but only because I know where to look.
My damage:

I'd say yours wouldnt cost more than $200 to fix.

Oh, and another thing to note Johnno, when I had mine repaired, they said the pothole I hit had sent many customers in with fucked wheels, but the bloke said 90% were a result of not running enough pressure in the tires. I had around 36psi because I was about to embark on some high speed driving (sustained 200+ = lots lots more heat -> expansion) but he said he wouldn't run less than 40psi in them or the same shit will happen again because they're soft, given a bad enough bump/piece of wood etc.

I know how you feel John. If the other places guys have recommended don't work out. I can find the number for a guy in Coburg. Didi a great job on my FR's. Probably a little worse of than yours. 2 rims, with each having buckled inners and outers, for $550.
At least i was able to sting Vicroads for 2 new rims and tyres for mine.

You mother-fucker, well done! I tried, but when I went to get pics the following day, it had been sealed over night... According to the Wheels bloke, at least 10 people hit and fucked their wheels on the same pothole I did that day/night (it was in the middle of an on-ramp!!!) but since there was no hole in the road anymore or even proof of it, there was not much we could do about it.

I drove straight to a servo, after i checked the damage, and bought a disposable camera, and took photo'sof the road, the pot hole, and the 15 other hub caps that littered the side of the road. Sent Vicroads the bill for about $2,500 for 2 new rims and tyres. (Gave them 2 quotes for them) and included the bill for the disposable camera. The only problem is, Vicroads have a $1,000 excess for any claims like that. Which i reckon is bullshit, but i was able to get them repaired and pocketed some cash for all the headfucks there were to try and get them to admit they were at fault and pay for the damages.
