BOOYEH now getting boosted......finally

Postby Gubas » September 10th, 2009, 1:53 pm

Gday all.
Just filling you all in on a huge update with my EBII Fairmont. Currently fitting my turbo, which as been sitting on a shelf for the last year and a half! All the turbo, manifold, dump pipe and exhaust are mounted. Just finishing off the intercooler and piping now.
To do list

Intercooler
Piping (2 1/2 inch)
Re-wire thermo fans
Install new wideband O2 guage and related wiring
Tune

I have been putting this off, after I had finished building my new house (Three years ago), my pergola (1 year ago) and my new shed (2 months ago).
Hopefully i'll get this thing on the dyno late next week for a tune and power figure. Hoping for 200rwkw on 7psi.
Here is a pic on the precedings so far,

Image

Will keep you all updated on the tune and power figure. I'll try and get to a few mini meets soon to.

Yeah, I know. Combination of money, time, CBF ness, no room, knowledge

Its pretty much full of stuff now, trailer, car, work benches, shelves etc..... and a laundry trough/taps, so no more go outside 10 pm in the freezing cold and dark trying to wash your hands and getting sudsy oil and water everywhere.
Im a sparky by trade, so its wired to the max with three phase power, so i'm on the lookout for a car hoist now.

Haha, thanks guys. I have been waiting for that shed for three years! It was on order for over a year too. The shed pretty much takes up the entire backyard. Except for about 70m2 the rest or the 680m2 block is concrete. LOL wog stylez.

Gilly, yeah I attempted a turbo install once, but got scared and sold all the shit off. My car wasnt gas back then, so it was it gonna be a bit harder. Bad excuse, I know!

There is nothing worse than working in a shed with crapola lighting. It drives you mad. The three banks are switched seperatly, so there not all burning away at once, for all you greenies out there

Man I was excited when I cleared out enough room in our double shed to park and work on the falc in. That shed n backyard is just, epic.

Good to see the cars getting attention now, I'm sure it felt neglected watching the house n shed n shit getting put up.

Yeah, sheds filling up quick!
I had the car running yesterday, fired up ok. Sounds alright too. Just gotta finish a couple of little things, then i'm ready for a tune, in two weeks when i'm off call for work.

Josh, yeah though I seen you, its funny, but I dont realy see the Geelong e-series guys getting around much. Must miss everyone.
I'll run the car as is for 6-12 months, and then pull it all down again and re-do bigger and better, or might just start with a new base and sell this thing. I dont know, we'll see anyway.

So far, its been a pretty quick, budget install, as I had most of the stuff lying around for over a year, that and I prepped the motor for the turbo years ago when I put the new motor in (timing/dizzy, sump oil return, GRA) so yeah, I'm happy
