They also had cruise control... which means it has the correct body harness if you want to fit electric windws... (which is EASY) Also, I'm sure the better factory tyres doesnt mean much now, as I'm sure they would have been replaced.

That's one thing I found funny, i'm probably wrong but I found out that the base models had optioned aircon, but nearly every e series I have seen has it. I rang up Ford and they said my car had Optioned aircon aswell.

umm.. how do you mean Optioned A/C? Pretty sure GLi's didnt have it standard, but Futura's did. Apparently Futura's were the first in their class (Holden Acclaim was the rival IIRC) to have Cruise, ABS, Rear Centre Lap Sash and A/C as standard.

My ex, ex's Dad bought an ED Gli many years ago and it didnt have A/C. It was originally from Vic, and no need for A/C down there. It had 14,000k's on it, and that was back in 2003... :o

Mine's a 94 Futura Classic - had cruise control, aircon, rear courtesy lamps, ABS and shitty EF 15x6 alloys.

Good point... forgot about the courtesy lamps in the back, and map reading lights for the front... Futura's alco copped colour coded door handes, mirrors and bumpers with chrome stripe.

The headunits were also different between Gli's and Futura's.

Yeh I didnt word it right, was standard on other models but was an available option on the base, and every one ive seen has it, does it have no button instead or something or when you press the A/C Button it simply does nothing? :P

Apparently the non-A/C models had some sort of dummy pulley in place of an a/c compressor, and of course a blanking plate instead of a button on the dash.
