Hey guys ive gotta get a tailshaft loop i was wondering who can get these cheap
Ive been quoted about 60- 180 at half a dozen places
I dont know who has good quality ones and all that so has anyone had experience with certian suppliers

I got mine from Superplus.
Of memory is was race approves or something.
Surely CVE can assist?

Go to an exhaust shop and get one made and fitted. $120 tops

Ok cool will do ltdho . But when i rang superplus they qouted me 79 thus why i asked if anyone knew which ones were good and what ones were not

Gee they have gone up. That we be as cjeap as the come Scott. You can put in it yourself in about 45mins.

lol but thermo fans attack scott if he just looks at them, i can see him getting all twisted up in the tailshaft and between the floor pan if he done it him self!!!!

I would not recommend this addition to your vehicle at this time Scott....


needs more 6 speed to have the addition of a tailshaft loop

$60 i was quoted....(a while back),
i ended up with the same loop from superplus - same price (after quoting the autobahn price).

There are ebay spec tailshaft loops for $30-$50... no idea on the quality, and whether or not they're safe for track use.

I need one though, I want to start doing track days.

just weld some 10mm steel to the floor, no worries lol

after a quick browse on ebay, it looks like the average price (not including the $30 bangers) is around $69.

They dont need to take a heap of force do they? A cheapy should do the job you would think.

yeah itd have to be some mega shitty steel to not do its job properly
as long as its mounted securely keeping in mind that it could potentially take a bit of weight it should be fine

The one i got from superplus few years back i think was about 57 but i think the price has gone up.

Dang, this thread just reminded me that I've got a tailshaft loop sitting under the bench. Bought it a few years ago now, and still havn't been arsed getting around to installing it! Might get on that this weekend.

needs more BA ... factory 2 peice tail shaft + loop(centre bearing)

a 2 piece tailshaft can still fail at the box and do just as much damage..

The loop goes on the front end of the tailshaft right (i.e. gearbox end)? As I'm assuming this is where the issue is that, if it breaks near the gearbox it is still bolted to the diff and could pole vault the car, were if it breaks at the diff end it's not bolted into the gearbox and so should just slip out and under the car...

Doesn't necessarily slip out from the box, I snapped an alloy one in the AU a couple of years ago near the diff it stayed in the box...

umm thanks captain obvious it actually spins and bounces around hitting the road and floor pan...
