Postby CMYWPN » October 14th, 2007, 10:29 pm

im thinking about putting a t5 in my eb v8, how much is a fair price to pay for all the essentials like the box, bell housing, tailshaft and mount?

You won't need a tailshaft or mount. I'd say $1500-$2000 depending on condition and what clutch etc, just because they aren't common they demand a premium. I wouldn't pay anymore than $600 for a conversion for an I6. Maybe you could look into getting a 5.0 5 speed wreck, you'd have all the parts you need plus you could make back the money selling the parts you don't need.

That was a reco(ish) box and brand new(1500km) clutch brotek. :D I'd only buy EA boxes, cause EA's are the BEST ?!?

That's damn cheap if it's a complete conversion. Should look into freight costs. It's like $500 or less to get a car from QLD to VIC, so hopefully a gearbox would be less.
